Do you have a "learning style"? Maybe not

Hi Bob, the first time i noticed Ken Ravizza because of a work mate- He was a Baseball Player and had his book- so i just ran through it and already back then i was excited how he "attacks" mental problems- And and especially his talking/writing style. Later i found some smaller videos of...

"Habits" create everything..... Winners and Loosers  One of my very very very favourite guys in the sport psychology circus was and always be: Ken Ravizza Could listen to him the whole day- great stuff, and deep knowledge pure. Many things are easy to convert to other sports- and ofc...

    Efren and position play...........

When Efren was here in germany at the Hangelar Open, he played some *small" matches against some guys. Me and a good friend watched this "spectacle" for about 3 hours. The most fascinating thing was, that Efren was not one single time with cueball nearer as maybe half a diamond to any rail...he...

    Custom cues and tip sizes

Nowadays 11,8 to 12.75 is the range you have to talk about---- 12.2 to 12.5 is the by far biggest amount of sold tip/shaft sizes.

How many have hardened leather or the phenolic tip for jump cue?

I personally use the Gator Tip which is made by Andy Gilbert. Since he released it. In my opinion the very best i ve ever seen and played. Enough energy transfer and a supberb grip. Even on a jump cue a good choice- as long you don t want to make 2cm jumps shots :-)

    The Art of Aiming

well described- I really like, how you somehow "expanded" already your existing knowledge into a more detailed- and a very easy to describe version of aiming. I personally explain at the beginning the ghostball for sure- but usually not for aiming- and if so, just as a quick reference. I prefer...

Why Allison is a pocketing machine

Exactly- that s the point. To build your stance around the cue/stroke. Seeing "it right" is the key- and if you know these 4-5 references, you "learn" to deal with them. You have to learn to KNOW how these references look like with your "own perspective". Perspective is everything- no matter if...

How low can deflection go and still be a useable shaft?

Well- the discussion about LD shafts is everywhere aware (ok, almost :-p) I m seeing so often students with 3 or more different shafts in their cases- amazing and scary at one time imo. The fact is: stay with your material. Of course you can play with every shaft- but to change between shafts...

Do you have a "learning style"? Maybe not

Good point- teachin the same way- 4 clear cathegories at beginning- then just more and more nuances. the more expirience and repetition, the more she/he will be able to adress the shot line better and better. big point in increasing self-belief also. trust is the key to everything. Because...

    ONE STROKING

Using "One Stroking" often with students. Very often interesting, that a big amount of players makin more balls ( big percentage numbers!) and "suddenly" start to really deliver the cue better.

Question for Instructors, have you ever said?

If i personally "reach a point", where i feel and know, that another guy can help a player much more-- i would never hesitate to send him to another coach. Happened til now just two times-- very stubborn persons- who where non-stop ignorant, and furthermore "unfriendly" ( to say it nicley). the...

    Revo 11.8 or 12.4?

Well, on any shaft, which is extremley stiff- no matter if we talk about wooden or carbon shafts it helps for sure to have a tip which has a really good grip- and which furthermore keeps its elastic really good. From my expirience Zan and also G2 are superb in this direction. As soon as you go...

    Revo 11.8 or 12.4?

Hey Mirza, 12,4 and/or 11.8 are very similar if we talk about the "handling" ( for the bridgehand- taper feels very identical for closed bridges). Deflection is of course different- but not as much as many think. Imo you will "see" and "feel" the difference as soon as you will use really high...

    Physical Therapy For The Back

Fran s advice is the one and only- meeting a physio therapist is necessary and important ( good that you made it). As you can see clearly, usually every of the professionals nowadays are working out daily. For sure not because it s fun :-) it s absolutley necessary, because pool is "brutal"...

Great champion level players who said that they never did any drills?

Good point, to get these "best players" out of their comfort zone- that s what its about imo. To have competion is necessary- and being alone at the table challenging drills will give kind of competition, too.
