Any jean balukas matches against men or even complete matches in the womens tour?

Hard for me to say since the Break Speed app wasn't invented yet. Purely subjective, but it seems like Shane drives the 1 ball a lil further/3 rails around, in the 9 ball break. Eric

Any jean balukas matches against men or even complete matches in the womens tour?

Jean definitely had that big break. She hit the pop and squat break kinda like Shane. Maybe not the same velocity but not off by much. I've played her a couple times and watched her game when HOF Billiards had their weekly tourney (20 yrs ago?). Jean and Gerda would play and her brother would...

    Local South Jersey pool groups

It might help if you narrow down to where in So Jersey? I would say, if you can find a "good" pool player that is willing to help with your game, that might be your best bet. One idea is if you can get on a team with the league's best player on it, maybe that person would become a...

Today's pro level versus the pros of 1986

So, the TPA numbers posted in the article are highly relevant to today's top player scores? Interesting, because the performance numbers can give a more objective comparison between eras. Eric

It’s Time for Pool Sayings ....Again

On playing bad: "You need a break. Take two weeks off...then quit Pool" On losing: "Somedays youre the bug and somedays you are the windshield" On winning: "Even a blind squirrel can find a nut" On shooting: "He hit that so bad it was almost good" Eric >couldn't make a ball into the ocean

    Mike Capone cues, opinions needed

I've had a Capone 4 pointer for the last 20 years (actually 19). I play it all the time, year after year and it is still solid; no issues at all with craftsmanship. Plays good too. Eric

    What's a good bridge length?

I use a longer bridge but don't use the entire length in my stroke. Why? Well, when you get to a certain age, your vision (close up) goes south. With a longer bridge, it's easier to see the cuetip/CB/OB as I sight the shot. Eric

Today's pro level versus the pros of 1986

While comparing players from different eras can be a bit subjective, I thought it was interesting comparing the Accu Stats numbers from 1986 vs today. While it's not a huge gap, there is a notable difference in overall scores. If I had to guess, I would say today's top players are winning...

Hal Houle, not an aiming thread

Thank you both, for weighing in. Great insight. I've always taken advice from ppl I respect and are just a little ahead of you, on the trail. Apologies to the forum, for being off topic. Eric

Hal Houle, not an aiming thread

Yes. Actually, 8 points (to include the very thin cut shot). Eric

Hal Houle, not an aiming thread

Hal had a list of forum CTE naysayers that he would kindly suggest that others ignore. Your's was one of the names that would get mentioned (sorry). Eric

Hal Houle, not an aiming thread

I found Hal on RSB. At first, I was a skeptic too. Eventually, I asked some Houlegans on CCB (Fred?) and decided to give him a call. I wound up having a bunch of calls with him and had several "call me when you are at a Pool table" lessons. I'm glad I did. On a side note (Chris Tate), I'd...
