    How do I fix this!!!!!!!

Just a thought and most importantly there are others who spent their lives at teaching, I don't, so please take this as an opinion of one player. Sometimes we get ahead of ourselves as we divert some of our focus to accomplishments already made towards the end rack. Instead of maintaining the...

    Your aiming technique

I'd stop it right there. If you have played enough you should be able to see the spot on the OB almost without looking at the pocket. Finding the spot is were I think most beginners need to start. As I mentioned here before; when my son started playing I took the CB out of the game for his...

    Your aiming technique

Interesting conversation yesterday As you might already know, Moke Sigel is from Rochester, NY. Yesterday I was talking with some of the older and very strong players about Mike. What they said is that when Mike was in his teens he could run 30 or so balls until one day when he asked about...

    i got bumper questions

Our room for the past 2 years has been pretty humid and the temp. varies quite a bit. What is happening is the rails, one by one, have been getting hard. I expect you defined the reason. My questions is, if conditions do not become more stable, is it possible that after the rails are replaced...

    Skid

I am not sure about this because it should be earier for the OB to get out of the way sooner. Not saying you are wrong, just some more to think about.

    Skid

Actually when you aim and your eyes are locked into the point of the OB to strike, you will see the CB climb up the OB. The sound you hear is a double hit, once at initial contact of CB and OB, and the 2nd when the CB drops on the OB from the climb.

    Skid

Can you give us an idea of your conditions? What is the humidity? Type of balls used? Type of chalk used? Tables played on? Name and variety of felt on tables? How often are the balls cleaned? What method and cleaning solution is used for the balls? Average felt replacement time period? I...

    Skid

I like the many responses here but still we notice skids in our pool room more often when the felt is brand new, first time playing on it, skids occur more often. Balls are cleaned and polished before play each day. Our pool room has high humidity, it is in the basement section of the building...

    Billiard felt opportunity

Hey Ken, It is durable enough but I think it might be too fast for a bar size table. We have another cloth that I think will suit you well though I am not sure if we can let go of it just yet. As you might know DuPont helps us with our product formulations, anyway they have introduced us to...

    Billiard felt opportunity

We have been working with a fabric manufacturer to come up with the right quality billiard cloth for quite some time now. I have since installed and all is performing as expected. I am producing another batch to be installed at other billiard rooms who have paid for installation. (Note This...

    Skid

Yep, Funny though, I missed a shot yesterday (off-line) and the skid caused it to go on-line and pocket. You could tell because it was overcut. The skid was favorable in this one case. Skids are discouraging though, no question about it. As Paul said yesterday, the game is tough enough as it is...

    Skid

Yes, new cloth always seems to produce more skids.

    Skid

Paul Mon, If you remember yesterday when I spoke with Tom, your playing partner, I had mentioned anything including oils can cause skid. It must be an imbalance of oils or any differences on the surface of the OB and CB. Funny though, when I was playing yesterday I had only one skid (mostly...

A very cool tip on shafts

Thanks Jim. Yes, the roughness on the shaft are the "fibers from Mr clean magic eraser". You need to wipe these off. The fibers break off as they "pull" the grit from the shaft. Also, the 1000 grit paper as you stated will clean up the tiny "wood" fibers that were already broken. Mr. Clean...
