    Who's the "Worst" Pro

I met Earl probably about 9 years ago at an exhibition. Now, I play Earl every week for about the last 7 months. He plays in my pool hall, with me and my brother on a weekly basis, among others that play our tournaments. My brother and I are semi-pro's in Florida. Let me just say this, Earl is...

    Practice vs. Play

Drills are a great way to build consistency and eye pattern on shots. Make your own drills to keep it interesting and make it something that you know you need to work on. Cue ball control, shot making, english, kicking, stroke et cetera. Practicing shots helps make the mental and physical game...

    Central Florida Tournaments

If anyone is in the Central Florida area and wants to find some new touranments to play, I have the place for you. The venue is Chalkies Billiards in Merrit Island, Fl. There are tournaments Thursday - Saturday night there. All are 9 ball and are handicapped. We do get some pro's but they give...

    Cant Get Better

Really ? I said they should if THEY cant figure it out. You mean to tell me if Tiger Woods slices a ball he doesn't know that he has the club face too high at impact on the ball ? You make it sound like I knocked the idea of a pro or expert level player seeing an instructor. I said they...

    Cant Get Better

No Scott they should ask if they can't figure something out with stroke or techniques and so forth but then again they normally got to where they are because they had a good teacher and now have the ability to self-diagnose their problems... after all it is my humble belief that once a pro level...

    Cant Get Better

Not to knock it Scott, because I am very certain that you are a great player to be a BCA Instructor, but it sounds like I am reading the book when you post and I myself am a great player, and I dont do most of what you teach. My bottom line point is, there are many ways to make the same shot...

    Cant Get Better

well I can surely agree on that, and hopefully one day when alot of us are at a pool tournament or convention, we can meet up and i'll show you what I am talking about and vice versa. I'll be in Vegas during the APA Masters, if your out there then that would be fine. Im sure we'll both be able...

    Cant Get Better

well my point wasn't about the actual height of the elbow to the shoulder.. if it is 90 degree's or not, as long as its level at the impact, meaning not dropped then you have the correct contact. And the speed of a practice swing does have bearing on how you hit the ball if you start very slow...

Table felt, can it be machined wash?

I have owned throughout my life 5 pool tables, all different too. I can say this, I have heard of people who have done that, and the felt actually fell apart slowly, fraying and what not. I have used simonis all my life and I can say I wouldn't but maybe someone knows a way of doing other than...

    advantages of using hard tip

People swear by certain tips, but you should certainly hit with as many as you can, and find which feels the best for your game. Alot tips are better for gaining english, some are good for players that hit softly so forth. I prefered for the longest time a simple Ole' LePro soft or medium. Now I...

    Terminology question

Guys, this almost got a touch confusing for me lol. Bottom line all these terminologies have a different meaning. Inside english refers to inside the angle, and outside is outside the angle( CB to OB to Pocket). Running english is the particular english that carry the ball versus Killing english...

    Cant Get Better

I actually have a very different position on all of what was told to you with some similarities. I can honestly agree that you should not have the up down motion in your stroke, at this POINT in your game, you should make a genuine effort in keeping your elbow level and use it as a pendelum. A...

    Stroke hitch

If you are hitting the forearm of the cue on the rail once in a while, its is from dropping your arm. Next time that shot comes up where you normally do it, make an effort to remember to keep your elbow straight, and it should help to start correcting it.
