    Meucci Wrap Question

Never seen a leather wrap on a Muecci but that doesn't mean it didn't happen, Not an expert. My MO grip when new felt like wrapless and was part of the gig IMO at the time. Slick 1975

    Quincy, anyone?

When I worked Quincy I never found a pool hall. 1st thing I'd do in those days was look in the yellow pages. There was no such thing as the internet. Zero hits in the yellow pages. Early 90's

    Interesting article on over-training

This kinda sorta ties into the older thread titled: "When do you play your best." or something like that I'm too old to be ambitious but when practicing, I don't start really Learning till after about hour 2. At that point, I've worked out all the kinks (that I know of) in my fundamentals, but...

Dating a Huebler cue by its logo // Opinion of a Huebler now at auction for $150?

Meucci used a threaded brass insert in the shaft. Heubler used a nylon type material. Yes, they played kinda similar. Legend has it they worked and learned together. I forget the Mentor? There's a few Huebler experts on this site. If you throw up a photo, you'll find out quick what you have.

Dating a Huebler cue by its logo // Opinion of a Huebler now at auction for $150?

My first and only Huebler cue had no logo. I'm guessing 1974 when purchased. How do I know it was a Huebler? He personally delivered cues to the room I frequented. Sure wish I still had this cue. Vid is from a Huebler FB Fan site.

    Old cue w/Dufferin style joint

Did Mark Wilson finally kill "aiming systems" ?

I believe he achieved at least the Top 30. Whatever his ranking was, it was good enough to be selected for the Mosconi Cup Team as a player. I'm not talking about being the coach.

    Using full spin

Wonder what you're all talking about here. Are you talking about the CB? And using spin for position? Or what? Lately on my 3C table I'm experimenting with Center Ball (vertical axis). Mostly with thin hits and speeds. I'm assuming we're talking about the CB here and not...

One pice v two piece cues

IMO, you're most likely kidding yourself if you're saying a house cue, any house cue is better than a well thought out 2pc cue. Sure, if you compare a house cue with a nice tip vs not, or a $50 2pc cue, you might have a point. That said, there is a chance of picking up a really nice house cue...

Any instruction resources available for playing with an upright stance?

My 3C Mentor taught me about standing tall. I did that for many years. With 3C it kinda helps. It's similar to looking at your shot before getting down. Standing tall while in a shooting position gives you more of a that birds eye view. Playing 3C, that Birdseye view helps with visualizing...

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

So you and Bob are saying, there's no magic and nothing matters other than cue speed at contact and the contact point is accurate? Plus of course no deceleration prior to contact? No deceleration = follow through IMO. To me that sounds like follow through = penetrating the CB. What am I not...

    Results from 2024 U. S. 3-Cushion National Champioship

Don't know if Hugo or Pedro has taken anyone under their wing. The only way the USA will produce a World Champion is if our best players get into teaching the game. It's a long road for sure. Just hope they're trying. Rather than being like Hoppe and going to his grave before disclosing his...

    Joint Pin Opinions

Widell does good work particularly if you're in a hurry. They inventory lots of oddballs and semi-finished stuff that can ship fast. Regal Beloit (Regal Cutting Tools) also does the same thing. Every Tap Mfg will make specials but these guys specialize in specials. Racking my brain to think of...
