A little tease...my MVP Monster Widow. Coming soon!

I was afraid that a lot of the figure in the burl would be obscured after the finish was applied without using good light to see it. It turned out not to be the case as it shows very well. When I core woods, I create pressure as the dowel goes in to see how many beads of epoxy sweat out from...

    G-core ferrule replacement

There is both improper chalking that wore the groove in the ferrule, and some sanding/cleaning/wear that rather slightly reduced the shaft diameter below the ferrule. When you install and turn the new ferrule down, turn just 4 or 5 thou off the transition area between the shaft and the ferrule...

A little tease...my MVP Monster Widow. Coming soon!

Joe's cue package is complete. He asked me to post the pic that will go up on my website. I don't think it could have come out any better. Kudos to Joe for the cue vision and inlaid ring design.

    G-core ferrule replacement

I've seen chalk grooves from bad chalking. If the cube of chalk has a deep hole and you chalk the tip with the bottom of the hole with a rocking motion as you twist it can happen. With a really short ferrule, it can happen on the shaft portion.

    Highly Figured Black Ash Burl

It's been a while since I posted a finished cue. I finished this one earlier this year. This black ash burl had pretty much everything going on. The small 4 pointed stars are approximately .112" in height. The large ones about .167". One of the shafts was made from a Tiger partial, the...

My First Veneered Full Spliced Blank

The black is thin black paper. It is pretty commonly used with the typical .022/.036 cue veneers to create a defined look rather than a classic transition or flame look.

My First Veneered Full Spliced Blank

Hopefully the mods don't mind the double posting as some cuemakers don't visit the gallery and vice versa. Some time back I started building jigs to make my own full spliced blanks. I recently took a trip to Erie to work with Bob Dzuricky on adding mitered veneers to them. Bob documented the...

Opinions on this piece of wood?

Your question shouldn't be whether squares cut from that board are worth 18$ a piece. Your question should be whether it's a good investment of your money. Are you going to make 48 sapele cues with only about half of them being B grade pomelle and some including knots? If so, it's a good...
