    Dumbest tournament rule ever???

Robbie Capito - link here According to him, he "experienced a severe stomachache" and then "sought permission from both my opponent and the referee and they both agreed to the break" and somehow he still got penalized. What a shit show.

Do Derby City Classic results go into FargoRate?

Oh wow, so they only know the winners of each match and not even the final score? That's crazy!

Do Derby City Classic results go into FargoRate?

Do the 9 ball and one pocket events go into FargoRate? Looks like the results from this year aren't in the system yet. I emailed both Diamond and FargoRate but haven't heard back.

    DCC Payouts and Results

Just posted here by the official DCC Facebook account: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=888077526438329 Not surprising but a quite a top heavy payout, with 16th place in 9 ball getting $900.

    DCC nine ball rules?

I just played there, the box was specifically stated to be 2 diamonds and not the narrower Matchroom box. Most of the tables were not marked, but there were some marked with the narrower Matchroom break box, which only added to the confusion.

    Chess clocks in pool

I would vote one minute per "race to" with a 30 second increment. So for a race to nine, nine minutes + 30 second increment. If a player has zero time left, it's a time foul and BIH for the opponent and they get the 30 second increment. Benefits of this set up: - if a player is low on time...

US Open 9-Ball, 2023, Atlantic City, Sep 25-30

I've always thought chess clocks were the perfect solution and fit for pool. I don't think this would be affected at all. You'd get some amount of time per shot in addition to your total bank, so even if your a game took 10 innings per player, you wouldn't run out of time. For example, for a...

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

I think that's addressed by the sentence before that says "The non-shooting player will perform all of the duties of the referee". So it sounds like best practice is to call over a ref if you might foul, otherwise you're at the mercy of your opponent. I actually never knew this, but I'll...

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

Feels like everyone is missing the part of the rulebook that says "If, prior to a particular shot, the shooting player feels that his opponent will not be able to properly judge the shot, he should ask the area referee to watch the shot". Doesn't that mean it's on Scott to call over a ref in...

Other than the main tournament, is there anywhere to play side games at the US Open? For the players that get knocked out early, is there anything for them to do other than spectate?
