    Shaft flex increase with use?

This thing caught my attention last night when I played with a few different shafts of different ages and hours on them. I have an old precat 314 that has been unplayed up untill this year and that shaft hits pretty stiff and sporty as of today. However I have a friends cue in storage at my...

    Balance Point Differences

Beautiful cues you got there :) Especially the second from the top is gorgeous it is like the perfect example of a traditional high end cue. Thanks for sharing your results. May I ask wich cue is your main player or do you change around often?

More *unique* "first cue" post. $550 budget.

I am glad to read about your cue search, I approve your way of thinking and planning  I would recommend going with a Mezz mostly because you seem a lot like myself, I see the beauty of objects in their quality and finish. Mezz has the best finish of any cue I have ever had my hands on...

Comments about my game would be appreciated!

You have a good eye for thin cuts  Problem that sticks out to me the most is that you end up with those thin cuts a bit too often. Work on cue ball control and you will be golden. You can learn pattern play by watching the pros play but keep in mind that you (or I) dont have their...

!!Contest - Pick 2016 US Open Winner!!

^ Jayson is a solid choice. I'll go with Shane this time, hoping that he can catch his gear and play like machine he can be at times. 13-10.

    Tightening predator weight bolt

Sorry to tell you but that is not something you can pick up at home depot :frown: I used a lathe, a milling machine and a TIG welder to make mine. A simplest way to make one like that requires atleast a bench drill, some steel rod for the "shaft" and some 4mm in diameter bolts. You can use 2...

    The BIG Mezz shaft thread!

Thanks for the review  Good to hear that Mezz made another good shaft. I would love to try one put someday, too bad it costs a small fortune :embarrassed2:

New Sib Layered Cue Tip AZB Prices

Any idea when Hard SIBs will be out? Nice tips for the price. Out of the dozen or so tips done so far I have had one tip that wasnt quite right, the leather was fluffy inside but other than that one piece these have been great. Generally well liked by those I have put some on and well priced...

New cue tips - holes on the bottom

^ That is correct, a gentle swipe on a sandpaper is enough, just enough to make sure the bottom is flat.

    New shaft advice wanted

Hey you a fellow finn  I feel exactly the same about shafts. Predators are too LD and lack a bit in feel, solid 13mm has too much deflection. I went through the following shafts to find out the one I like the most; Mezz WX700 Mezz HP2 Tiger Ultra X LD Tiger Pro X Predator precat 314...

Tip installing TAOM tip (pun not intended :)

I have used Loctite 401 and 458 Blackmax glues with succes. Just remember to let the glue set properly for a few hours before working on the tip or playing with it

Tip installing TAOM tip (pun not intended :)

I cut Taoms and all synthetic tips down to size with a carbide cutter, very close the ferrule. Then I polish the sides, 600 grit to take out the tool marks, then to 1200, 1500, 2000 and then a gentle wipe with a polishing compound. Works well for me  The dome I cut with a razor blade...

Have you ever felt like a new cue instantly improved the level of your game?

^ What model and shaft are you playing with straightpool :) I personally use all new equipment for an hour or two before just to get in feel if it is worth spending time on getting used to. I have sold a couple Mezz cues after just hours playing with them as they just felt wrong for me. If I...

Project Tomahawk Joint and Butt cap size

I would love to have a cue made with Tomahawk joint. Great stuff, hits better than anything I have tried as a ferrule :) Tough as what as well, I would recommend trying some out if you are a cuemaker. Too bad I dont have the equipment to fit a joint collar of this stuff  If I had I'd...
