You break it, you bought it

Years ago, a good friend who "dabbles" in cue repair offered to put a new tip on my break shaft. He's done work for me before and after this incident. Roughly two months after I gave him the shaft, asked for it back. He offered to allow me to borrow his personal break cue. A near new OB Rift...

Where are the Large # of Table Rooms at Nowadays?

Both of our local rooms have more than fifteen. I frequent East Ridge Billiards has ten Diamond seven footers, eight Diamond nine footers and two Gold Crown Fives. At one time, plans were in place to expand adding another nine seven footers and ten additional Gold Crowns. Don't think that is...

cost of refurbishing Brunswick snooker tables?

Contact Mark Griffin at CSI. Griff's pool room had a 6 x 12 Brunswick snooker table on the floor for a while. Understand he purchased it from a private residence and had it refinished. Not sure buy whom but hopefully he might be able to give you his views and investment costs. Good luck. Lyn

    APA and Mosconi Cup

easy, As an aside, once lost a straight pool game when my opponent missed the break shot so bad, the object ball went four rails into the original targeted pocket. Happened nearly twenty years ago but I remember it as yesterday. As he does! Lyn

    APA and Mosconi Cup

Look Folks, I played 8 seasons in APA. Played over a thousand individual games. At best, either my opponent or myself "slopped" a ball in less than ten times in all those games. It's just an excuse for hating the APA. They have more than enough other reasons but not this one. Incidentally...

    Ball jumping out of pockets.

Glen, Did you watch the video in post #2? I originally thought it was fake. Then a link from Manning Cues was posted. Watched the video and now understand how it MIGHT happen. If the deflectors were removed for some reason on the table in question, wouldn't it possible for the object ball...

    Ball jumping out of pockets.

Hey dog, Watched Manning Cues video. Now I understand how a ball played in one side pocket can pop back up onto the table from the other side. Bad original design. Never seen it happen in person. Have seen an object ball enter a pocket, drop out of sight, then pop back up onto the playing...

    Any thoughts on bca vegas

Rider, There is a statement on the entry form about changes in your Fargo between entering and the beginning of play. Think BCAPL "turned its head" not to see this problem developing. Entries were already way, way down. Still think it is all about the sanction and registration fees. JMHO. Lyn

    Any thoughts on bca vegas

Why Randy, are you really that old? :p Adding another division would only slice the pie even thinner. Beside, isn't Fargo the be all, end all? Anyway, if I was old enough to play Super Seniors ......... Lyn

    Ball jumping out of pockets.

Several years ago, Valley introduced a revised Panther bar box. It was used at the Valley National event in Vegas and the APA Nationals. Wasn't a major complaint about the revision that a ball driven directly into a pocket would sometimes jump back out? Don't have any video's but I saw it...

    Any thoughts on bca vegas

Hey 9, The convention centers at all the Caesar's Casino's are independently operated. The door nazi's do not work for The Rio. All the food and drink is offered by the concession holder. Their return on investment is directly tied to the prices they charge. Sad situation. Lyn

    Any thoughts on bca vegas

Our local players returning from Vegas commented on how slim the fields were this year. Also mentioned the shortage of vendors from past years. Some mentioned the door guards were overly active and the food prices were through the roof! Did not go this year so this is all second hand. Can...

Stolen Trailer with Lathe and Tooling

PRED, Have you ever been to The Rio? The parking lot near the convention center is wide open. Bet if you touched a gaming table inside, security would be on you immediately. The reason theft's like this happen at a casino is they don't care about the outside. Only this inside where THEIR...

Stolen Trailer with Lathe and Tooling

Think it was Joe Blackburn at the Riviera around 2010. Riviera had cameras everywhere but none covering the parking lot behind the convention center. Casinos only protect themselves. Screw the public!!! Lyn

    Approached for sponsorship

Remember Jose Parica's sort of famous statement "You give me cue, I make you famous". Pretty sure he succeeded. Kind of got a chuckle out of the "the cue was stolen from my car / hotel / motel room" Danny Medina pulled that one on my best friend in Vegas. Told him not to give it to Danny...
