Confused at what EBAY cues has become.

eBay has moved much of its sales people from selling via auction to the “ make an offer “ format - that has resulted in ridiculous buy it now and opening price points. This is the result of that gradual movement away from lower opening price auction formats. E bay found that overall sales...

Any tips to remove this Brunswick bumper?

The problem removing these old Brunswick bumpers is that the rubber closest to the knob holding it onto the cue will just break apart when applying even a an extremely thin yet strong ply bar tool to lever off the bumper from the cue. It is just about impossible to soften the internal rubber...

    How to refinish rails?

Are you actually using paint and not stain on your rails? Painter's tape works fine to cover an area not included in the painting or staining as long as you just carefully only cover the sight inlays.

Fun fact Danny DiLiberto shared with me

Some people choose a road less traveled in life. Danny surely was one who did that from a very early age. I think that is one of the great allures of this great game we call pool- the storied lives of those who followed a course not chosen by many. Danny's dedication to becoming the best at his...

    Fight or flight

Great pool playing demand a very, very high and consistent form of simultaneous mind focus and body relaxation. Observing and playing against great players leads me to a few conclusions that seem to present themselves in almost every masterful performance in the game: 1. Their self developed...

    Shaft questions

CF shaft may feel different to you than a maple shaft, but piloted vs. non piloted usually will not make a difference in feel if the shaft fits snug to the cue butt.

    Players cue info

Every single letter that I have seen from Pete LOA on an original GB with linen wrap had Delrin listed as butt cap material - unless it was early titilist / Hoppe style conversions done by GB.

I know but I like that softer look to Delrin - anything that GB used on a cue is a classic look - I think:):)

    Players cue info

Butt cap is a basic plastic material. You are not looking a Delrin right there.

vintage dufferin question saxon ds- 1300 ?

Unless someone here knows specifically- you can consider numbers and names on large production cues from years ago to represent lot numbers, order numbers, individual rooms or companies that the cues were made for distribution, etc. etc. Brunswick cues for many years had all sorts of numbers on...

    Sardo rack.

For Mr. Sardo , this invention allowed him to write off a ton of everyday expenses that could be associated with a business venture. Whether or not the rack was everything that it was promoted to be, he gave it a sincere attempt; and I hope that he had a great accountant who maximized his...

    Cork

I never tried a cork wrap. I think that I would like it a lot. I doubt that it would feel at all like a smooth linen wrap, though - if that is what you like today.

How Important Is it to Own/Use a Break Cue

No- I really don't over think everything that much. I could break with almost anything on any table set up - but- if just happen to be in the mood to fine tune a break cue to a game/ match- those would be my choices. I like to experiment with cues/ to understand how cues affect play/ just as a...

How Important Is it to Own/Use a Break Cue

For me, break cue usage and break cue choices depend upon what game one is playing ( 8, 9, 10 ball)--i.e. rack size and what the racking set up is- triangle rack vs. a flat set template rack. Also a factor is table size- 7 vs. 9 foot. These are the factors that I consider in choosing my break...

Cue Case - Lined with Billiard Cloth

Pool cue components or styles that you are not a fan of.

I'll second the complete disdain for Reverse points- goes to show you how people's tastes can be polar opposites-- I think that reverse points make any cue look completely awkward- like 4 lines just hanging down towards the wrap area- just dangling there- give me points straight up to the sky...

Pool cue components or styles that you are not a fan of.

What I have observed regarding cue designs and materials is that what is totally offensive to one person is loved by another . The responses here already are beginning to reveal this. Somebody here likes Purpleheart- I think it is the ugliest wood on pool cues and of about 150 cues that I have...
