    Most underrated cuemakers?

Considering he hasn't been mentioned yet, I'm going to say Cory Barnhart. I am looking for an ebony into ebony with blue veneers and a hoppe ring. I had 3 makers in mind, two of which were mentioned earlier. Cory can get it done in 12 weeks at a fair price so it should be in my hands by the...

    Why a carbon shaft???

I love my Becue Prime so much that I've sold off a couple of cues, and ordered an ebony into ebony custom cue to pair it with. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Understanding the TAP handicap system

It was definitely the final 16 where all of these disqualified teams were. I really don't care if you believe me or not. I appreciate that you helped remind me to not join the APA again. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Understanding the TAP handicap system

It was 2016. What drove me away was not the sandbagging as much as the complaining about sandbagging. That was truly rampant. I was there for the 8-ball team tournament. I saw the 9-ball bracket that was before I arrived. Close to half of the teams in the final 16 were marked as disqualified...

    Understanding the TAP handicap system

I have heard of a "tournament module", not exactly a separate handicap. I believe it uses a larger sample and will round up more aggressively. I saw a 3 make three jump shots in one match at the tap national but nothing like you see at the Westgate. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Understanding the TAP handicap system

I am a TAP player and one thing not considered when looking at your last 20 matches is table size. I play double jeopardy on 9' tables in a pool hall and recently went up in 9-ball before I went up in 8. Looking at my last 20 matches in each, I was much better in 8. However, I know I have...

    Pechauer Rogue Shaft

I had a vendor confirm the joint sizes with Jacoby. They do size them differently, depending on the joint. 3x8-10 is 0.855, while radial is 0.847. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

My experience with 7 carbon shafts so far

I was inquiring about the joint diameter for the radial Jacoby.* The seller contacted Jacoby and forwarded the numbers for all joints.* Uniloc was listed as 0.840.* Maybe you were looking at a prototype. * I understand your issue though.* My Jacoby Ultra radial shaft is 0.847 and that is...

    carbon fiber shafts

I'd wait for the Mezz Ignite CF shaft. They will only make them for their own joints but the United joint fits great on a Schon. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Jacoby "Black"

Can you tell me what the joint diameter is? I'm looking to use one on a non-jacoby cue. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    I want your opinion

I have enjoyed the mystery cue sales posts. I have a bit of gamble in me but, even then, I expect that I'm getting a cue at a great price. I would have had a hard time resisting the Tascarella or James White cues you've offered if photos were included in their posts. Sent from my BLN-L24...

    Pool cue?

That is a crazy price for any cue on that site. Someday I am going to pull the trigger on a "Blak" clone. At least that is priced right. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Tips... Are we fooling Ourselves?

I didn't mean to say yours were fake. Just that the fake ones were more expensive than yours. Fakes are out there, even for the elkmasters. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Tips... Are we fooling Ourselves?

Even Joe B's site charges $22.50 for a box of his version. I'd be worried I was getting fakes getting triangles that cheap. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

    Tips... Are we fooling Ourselves?

I have always thought a triangle was a fine tip, though I do enjoy precision tips. I recently got a black boar ferruleless shaft and the tip is understood to be a triangle. I'm not sure if Tony does something special to the tips but cannot imagine using anything else. Sent from my BLN-L24...

Trying to decide on a LD shaft

I have the ex pro with the united joint, which is basically a much better version of a 5/16-14 joint. I use it on a Schon. One knock is they are pretty expensive, if you can find one. Last I saw was $415. The cuetec carbon fiber shaft might be a better option. Sent from my BLN-L24 using Tapatalk

What has happened to quality at Schon?

I would also point out that Schon cues shine when paired with a low deflection shaft. I remember finding an old post when I first found this forum and the most popular cue choice of pros was Schon/314. If Schon started using a proprietary pin, their market would be gone. Sent from my BLN-L24...
