That tracks. I’ve heard Zuglan’s players meeting speeches before where he announces no re-racking, just play. But never really ends up that way. Wild to see the percents jump so high. Let’s you see the quality of play and concern rise as the event weeds out.
64% of breaks were successful. That’s impressive for an opponent hand racks event. I would’ve thought lower based on players not giving their opponents the best rack they could.
Am I reading that right??
He posted the boycott statement because the Hanoi Open wouldn’t be treated as sanctioned? (Self-serving purpose)
He did not realize the statement was meant to be in solidarity with the Asian players that have already been banned? (Altruistic-purpose)
I’m assuming even Carlo’s ban being delayed until after the World 8-Ball Championships was Predator flexing their muscles for their event. It does make you wonder how supportive, permissive, or pressuring their stance is directly to the WPA. In my mind, they are meant to be an industry leader...
Important words from a man that has personally experienced being banned from pool solely based on where he was born and not based on his behaviors or choices.
Agreed. He and Albin moved from the Predator website to the bracket.

Maybe but I doubt they made it mandatory. Some of it is copy shared by the WNT pros that made a statement. But not all WNT pros made a statement. And Filler added some extra verbiage to his post with the “I personally know how it is to be threatened by federations and them trying to put me...
And now we know a third way to get on the calendar. Grandfather in from a points system nobody pays attention to but can get Hunter Lombardo to the World Games and WCBS Championships.
I assume there’s only two ways to get on the WPA calendar.
One is to have your event sanctioned.
Two is to start a rebellion against the WPA until public pressure pushes the WPA into putting out a press release that lists your event as being “treated as sanctioned” as a peace offering that...
I beat Brad Houston in a B Bracket event a few years ago (before he passed). His back arm shook wildly from his condition and age. I could see his intelligence in his approach to the table but he was past being able to execute. Some knowledgeable local folks railbirded. After I won I...
The snippet I shared is from the World Nineball Tour Rules on the WPNPC site.

The WPNPC and that page were revealed in August 2023 so that would be fairly recently, relatively speaking.
It’ll be very interesting to see if the bracket ends up matching the advertised list. It won’t go well in social media if someone says they’re boycotting and ends up playing if the situation isn’t at a resolution...
It's wild anyone would play a pro 9-ball on a bar box, template rack, 1 on the spot, no break box, and no 3-point rule. That specific set of conditions begs for an 800+ player to run a 100-pack if they put a Jayson Shaw high run effort into it.
Yapp came to the table 8 times after the lag. He simply failed every shot, pushout, or defensive battle he was faced with. Here's one example of him at the table in game 8 with his cue in his hand. Obviously KPC didn't break and run that rack.
