How important is the hop on Shane's break?

    Hypothetical Sponsorship Proposition...WWYD?

Drilling is one of my favorite things to do. I've easily spent 8 hours putting in solid work on drills many times. The thing that helps me the most is music. Plus seeing results. When I was first shown straight-in shots, I'd shoot about 3 racks, make about 4/15 each rack(if I was lucky), get...

Happy to support pro pool being played on 9-foot tables.

    Hypothetical Sponsorship Proposition...WWYD?

what would you do to train during these 3 years? Drills, tournaments, maybe some light gambling. Would you hire a trainer? a coach for periodic checkups, but not a full-time trainer. Would you gamble more? maybe. undecided. Would you do more drills? I would find every bit of drills and...

Was this a foul at TS or a SHARK

I keep saying it.. 15 balls in the box, why are we only using 9 or 10 for rotation games?

US DPEN Time for a little Clarity

Am I the only person here who heard Pat on the Turning Stone live stream directly replying to everything said in this thread? I don't remember exactly what he said, but I do know that he comprehensively laid all our fears to rest.

    Hypothetical Sponsorship Proposition...WWYD?

The thing holding most people back is money. If all my expenses were paid and I didn't have to worry about a job, I'd probably be running every drill known to man plus races against the 15-ball ghost (if I can run all 15, I can run 9 or 10), possibly throw in some light 3-cushion and snooker to...

Why has no one beat Mosconi's high run?

Had to dig through his FB to find it, but Shane recently ran 305 at Steinway. That should be added to the list of high runs linked elsewhere in the thread.

Why do I hate league pool so much?

ever wandered into the non pool related section?

Was this a foul at TS or a SHARK

This is going to be an interesting discussion to watch, considering all the comments in the past (and especially in the chat) about Mike's checking the rack. From what I saw, everyone (at least on the stream table) was checking the rack (maybe an opportunity to plug the outsville accu-rack?).

US DPEN Time for a little Clarity

People get mad about all the hate on the U.S. Open, but I don't see anyone knocking Mike Zuglan or Turning stone. I wonder why that is?

    Shane Repeats Masters win...

Everyone keeps forgetting that Jayson Shaw is also an English 8-ball world champion. I think John Schmidt said it best. The reason snooker is so popular is because you automatically know what's going on once you take the 30 seconds to learn the game. Red, color. red, color. Little old ladies...

Why do I hate league pool so much?

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. After a lifetime of gambling and living in the professional side of pool, I imagine league pool playing with amateurs would be a completely different world for you. I personally like it, I play in a BCAPL 9-foot singles money league. I can't stand...

I have an off-topic question. Why doesn't the APA play with the larger pool world?

    Shane Repeats Masters win...

The game is stuck in the 50's in several ways. More and more people are moving away from their TV's and toward internet-based entertainment.

    Shane Repeats Masters win...

Unfortunately, the part of pool that currently enjoys the greatest amount of commercial success is the APA. Jeanette Lee is the Edward Bernays of pool.
