    2016 World 9-Ball Championship

While we're crying about the format, I say Shane beats everyone shooting one-handed behind his back when they switch to bar tables and make every match races to 100, winner break, rack your own.

Should tournaments ban the use of bar-box tables?

I think Europe and Asia playing on 9' tables puts them at an unfair advantage on the world stage, where everything is on 9-foot tables. The rest of the world should bend to our will and adopt the bar box, seeing as how we're AMERICA and we set the example for everyone else to follow. As soon as...

    2016 World 9-Ball Championship

This. Don't worry, though. The USBTC kicks off in a few days, I have no doubt Shane will snap that off.

Nominate the worse thread posted in the main forum for 2016

Hmm... Any thread started by Dr. Cue's Protege.

    Space Billiard NYC

Why would anyone pay somebody's hourly wages to play pool on mediocre tables? Glad I don't go there. Plenty of great recommendations in this thread.

Anyone Else having problems at the BCA

He arrived at the designated table on time, and his match was forfeited at 3:27. How long would it take to walk back and forth between the table and tournament desk?

    2016 World 9-Ball Championship

I'm sure CSI could hold it, but then it would be played on bar boxes.

    9-ball Ghost

I do offense only, and I'm about 50/50 with the 5-ball ghost. I've tried incorporating safety play into it, but it devolves into me chasing balls around the table and wastes too much time. Suggestion: instead of just throwing balls out on the table, use it as an opportunity to practice your...

    US Open 10-Ball Day One

Wouldn't "American Champion" be more accurate? I personally don't see anything negative about that title. (Not a question for CSI, as I can read the signature line. More a question for the rest of us railbirds)

Now is the time for Pool on TV

    Isn't television a dying medium?

Bergman vs. Deuel at BCAPL National Championships

From this, can we hypothesize that the next generation of top American players will be raised from amateur leagues, tournaments and programs like the BEF?

Bergman vs. Deuel at BCAPL National Championships

Shane over Toasty, Berg over Deuel, probably the only interesting match here is Rocket vs. Bighead

What Pro Should Lead The Pack...Or

+1 for Tony. Don't discount Gail. She's very business-minded. The 2 of them make a very good team. CJ's industry experience is definitely valuable, as well.

If had Org. What game would they play

This. No early combos. Run all 15 balls, with little scoreboards on the bottom so people know which ball is which. OR Chinese 8-ball. I know some of you hate big pockets, but pro level 8-ball on 4"+ pockets is.... I can't think of an analogy for how much of a joke that is. But, 8-ball is the...

Scotch Doubles with no communication between players

I asked Tony about it, I'm not a fan of this rule either. Not being able to communicate with your partner when you're at the table came from people taking forever with matches. FWIW, this comes straight from the powers that be at CSI/BCAPL.

    hello

When it comes to breaking, I've noticed that the tip you have on the cue makes the biggest difference. Other than that, if you've got good technique, you should be able to break with anything. So to answer your question, the Cuetec meteor only breaks as well as you do.

Any BOWLLIARDS / BOWLING game fans out there?

I learned this in Japan years ago, with some rule variations that I've highlighted. Very good practice game to gauge your offensive capability. I remember struggling to score 25 when I first started, then 50 when I left Japan. A few weeks ago I hit my highest score yet of 207. There are great...

Question: tournament play for money or competition

Competition for me. I learned a lot from snooker players' approaches: you can practice all you want, but you have no idea how good you are until you're under the heat, and your opponent's breathing down your neck waiting for you to make a mistake.

Article on "What's holding pool back"

Someone mentioned "mainstream appeal" earlier in the thread. I think the APA (regardless of my opinion) has tapped into that market and has a pretty firm grip on it. They just haven't traditionally played nice with others.

Article on "What's holding pool back"

I'm very confused by this. I thought you were a board member or something like that? You've been a pretty steady defender of the WPA in the past. Can you clarify your stance?
