It's exercise for me...rest for the other guy :grin-square:

    Is Indyq.com for real?

I trained a woman to run a machine at the company where I work. We reviewed safety every day and it was made clear how to use the equipment properly...also the consequences of cutting corners (as much as could be explained). 6 months after that person went to work on the night shift, she cut a...

    onepocket.org

When I think of OP.org, it is of fantastic Hall of Fame Induction dinners where long time champion players are honored. The organization is run by caring people who care for one of pool's finest games respectfully. I've never seen any politics that seem predudicial and the members get to vote...

Old growth ring shaft or Sunken wood shaft??

You will probably get the best answer to this question on the ask the cuemaker forum. As I read my post, I see Mr Dayton has posted...there's your answer from someone who knows. My understanding is that they are distinctly different. One (lakewood) has been under the compression of water for...

    Higher end dedicated break cues

Of the choices you listed, I prefer the Gulyassy. I have several custom matching break cues and for my own preference, chose the Pete Ohman. It has a longer forearm so it is deadly on long jump shots where you must be very accurate. After doing my own search, I found Omen J/B cues to be the...

    Pool Player and Smoking..

You're asking the question backwards in my opinion. It should be "How many smokers play pool?" I submit that if rooms were to place a complete ban on smoking in and and outside the premises, their business would be cut in half. I used to think I was a pool player and a movie buff. When I...

    $$$$$$$$$--Pete omen jump--$$$$$$$

Are you sure this is an Omen??? Not calling you out or anything but Pete uses a different pin. He also stopped using metal rings years ago. I've never seen an Omen with a flared butt cap. Does the cue have a logo or signature? If it is an early Pete Ohman, it is interesting...rare...

    Pool movies

Interesting review. Thanks for the link. I thought I was the only person who actually liked that film. Ebert speaks of the pro player's "painful" request made to prepare for his match. I found that scene too bazar to make any sense; but the gamble portrayed in the film felt real. Somebody...

Ronnie Allen vs Keith Mcready and Harry Platis

I had the match on DVD some years back. Harry plays brilliantly and his consistency makes the difference, outshining Ronnie's mastry of one handed play. Keith is in Harry's ear every inning about the correct move. I really enjoyed the match but being an RA fan, it was difficult to see him...

    WTB Winning One-Pocket 2nd Ed

Just checked the book...it's Shots Moves... not the first book. I do have a pristine copy of the 2nd ed Winning OP signed on the cover by ER but it is well inscribed to me. Would take a hefty offer to get it off my coffee table. If you come up dry, lets talk. My copy will be expensive but...

    OMEN Cues

I have 4 of Pete's cues now and have found his work to be excellent. I'll gladly send you some pics if you like...PM your e-mail. I was unable to post pics on my last photobucket session so I'm not sure how to do so any more on AZ.

    New to Carom Billiards

Better late than never. welcome to the game. I found Accu-stats coverage of the Sang Lee matches helpful with learning much of the language and inspiring some of my practice. Bob Byrne explains many of the fundamental shots in simple terms. Another important decision for me was to take...

AZB any opinions on Josey Cues???

Keith and Sheri care about their customers and the quality of their product. My Josey plays superbly. Keith refinished and upgraded the wrap recently...fast, fair and excellent work. I would chose a Josey over most and never look back.

Check out this box Schon cue!!!

Congratulations. An early schon in a very rare design. Bet it plays lighs-out too. I tried to acquire that cue from Scott but we never quite came to terms... Glad it found a good home. It is the only one I ever saw like it.. really interesting cue.

    Pete omen custom cue set

Great cue, beautiful wood, fancy JP's; really good value here. Pete's jump break is proportioned differently from most. Really accurate for long jump shots. The design helps me fall into aim more naturally and hold form through the shot. I play better with an Omen JB than any other.

Warning for doing business with Tony Zinzola

On the matter of southwest, I contacted Lori and was treated with utmost professionalism. She not only had my original order date (2002) but she had the details of my request ready to read back to me. She even had notes from 2004 when we spoke to confirm a few changes. Maybe Southwest cues...

what are the best billiards magazines

Pool & Billiard Magazine has been steady and high quality for many years. It gets my vote as well worth the cost. Don't underestimate the value of buying sets of old magazines. Good pool advise never goes out of style. If you want to read the wisdom of many champion players, those columns...
