    "Big" Cue Collectors

If you collect and your train of thought is what I will "make" when I sell.. that is NOT collecting that is investing and it is different. These two things should never be confused with each other, and they aren't synonyms. If you buy 10-50-100 cues and your concern or goal is to make money, you...

    "Big" Cue Collectors

It can be argued that a "true" collector, does NOT worry about resale. Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting is not about the money. I took on a large collection of cues a few years ago. The collector's agenda was to collect one of everyone in the Blue Book. over 750 cues and 400 cases...

Id on a 2x2 case? Possible O'Neil or a Palmer?

That is my pic.. I was looking to post it but could not find it. 😝 I think the bigger cases received the extra latch (center) and reinforced corners. JV

Id on a 2x2 case? Possible O'Neil or a Palmer?

I was talking about the tweed case. I am not sure what the OP case is with the Adam cues. JV

Id on a 2x2 case? Possible O'Neil or a Palmer?

Tweed O'Neils are easy. They had optioned the black leather tops as well. Here are two O'Neils, both 1x2 with the long internal compartment. The top case has leather pulls to open the lid on the inside. FTR I have never seen a black stitch O'Neil case. I am not saying they did not do it, but...

    balabushka

That is why we stockpile straight old Brunswicks. You can used from just about the top of the points forward if the cue it straight. A reclaim shaft that is solid and straight. It also has better patina, nothing worse than a 50-60 year old cue with new snow white shafts. JV

    balabushka

Neither son had an interest in making cues. Both are very nice gentlemen. If you have a Balabushka, there is no reason you cannot play with it today. Or any other vintage cue for that matter. Other than the annoyance of getting asked to let someone hit balls, or want to engage you in some...

Opinions regarding a former top pro playing in and dominating a Poolroom‘s weekly handicapped tournament?

If you are going to keep this better player, you keep adjusting until it is tough for him to win. If he stops coming then you know he was only playing because it was easy, this is what I suspect will happen. Handicapped tournaments are made to equalize the playing field to some degree. Do not...

    "Big" Cue Collectors

There are plenty of big cue collectors, there are also big collections and the cues could be minimal. I can tell you that anyone that collects is driven. If you collect Meucci's, fantastic. Schon's, McDemotts, awesome. Those guys are building big cue collections and more power to them. 50 Szams...

    Estate Sale -- Hopedale, Ms

Well according to Mass Bill S.2553 passed in 2018, which prohibits the sale of ivory in line with the federal guidelines, most of those custom cues are illegal to sell. The Verl Horns and Schragers, probably a few others, without "documentation". JV

    ? Ron Thomas case ?

Thomas Cue Cases They are clearly made in the Porper style of case, I would think to make this line of case, if they were made in the USA, then Porper might have been private labeling these. I have known Ron for many years and this is not something he would have made, in addition to the 1 x 2...

    ? Ron Thomas case ?

I do not think that is a Ron Thomas. I never saw a 3/6 RT, I know he did a 2x4 like It's George used to. I am also unaware if he had a private labeling agreement with anyone. JV

    Fellini ?

Schon cases are slightly larger than Fellini cases and have more cuts on the ends. They never have tags but the liner is a little thicker than Fellini liners. Your case looks smaller and therefore I would think it is a Kelli case.
