That’s not what he said. He said that everyone has personal preferences. Dave Siltz’s tastes don’t need to match yours or mine. Freddie <~~~ calling on Barenada

Alternative to the Willard Tipping Machine

Ditto. Maybe 20 years ago i was looking at the Willard Tip Machine for around $400. Instead I got a Speedway Mini Metal Lathe. While other Mini Lathes were selling foe $399, not only was the Speedway 7 x 14 only $299, it was on special for an unbelievable $199. Put together a roller bearing...

    Possible Omega DPK identification?

This is an Omega Cue (mass produced in Asia) not an Omega/dpk (Mike Bender and then Matt Bender).

Information on a Bob Fry purple heart sneaky pete?

Normally, we're just being a little snooty, pedantic and uber traditionalist. But in this case with Bob Frey, I definitely think we need to keep the definitions clear and separate between his well-known Sneaky Pete/Hustler cue and a custom full-splice cue / conversion.

Information on a Bob Fry purple heart sneaky pete?

Not a Sneaky Pete, but still a great cue. Frey’s Sneaky Petes are true Sneaky Petes.

two new elk master 13mm tip boxes in a row very hard / old?

Because this is the internet. People want to show you they know something. I haven’t ordered a box of Elk Masters in years and have never heard of someone describing any new box of Elk Master as “hard” or “harder.”

    What is your HIGH RUN?

Yesterday, I got on a table and didn't embarrass myself. I even cut a few shots down the rail the full length of the table, and they dropped. I was pretty stoked.

    US Cue Exports?

7 out of 10 Schōn cues are sold overseas. Out of those 7, 1.3 go to Europe. The rest go to Southeast Asia. This is due to Bob Runde’s legacy only. Evan Clarke is unfortunately not the reason according to my sources. With that, I totally made up everything above. Good luck.

    Best Playing Cue Builder

Feels like you missed what they were asking. Maybe you’re answering some other question. He explicitly was taking about CNC inlays and implied that if it has a lot of inlays, that they were CNC inlaid and that a lot of inlays means the cue isn’t meant to be used as a player. I was explicitly...

    Top 5 pool players ever

I think what held Mataya back is that he wasn't a career-long tournament player. But he won the Stardust All-Around, the World All-ARound in Dayton, OH and the World 8-ball (in Dayton, IIRC). All of those had the best players in the world at the time, but I'd ask @jay helfert how big these...

    Top 5 pool players ever

Why Allison? Phenomenal female player, but not comparable to the top men. Why Caeser (sic)? Ever since we all found out who Cesar Morales was and is, I find it silly to refer to Efren as anyone else. Why O’Sullivan? Not a pool player, and it showed. Phenomenal snooker talent.

bridge length, wrist, elbow and shoulder

IMO, you might get better feedback from your cousin. And you are making sense. Bridge length is a component for stroke speed from a “get more speed without increasing acceleration” standpoint. The additional movement of your body, possibly a result of the stroke and not an input to the...

Hitting better with a hard tip?

Tires use a center drive mechanism and rely on shear on a supported surface to provide motion with respect to that surface. Pool balls spinning rely on something hitting them off-center, which is basically a question of torque. There is no support on the spinning axis. Shear and torque in...
