fargo ratings aren't very good or accurate

Way off topic, but there's a very old. little known (almost a secret) classic chess book by Aron Nimzowitsch called 'My System' which is simply fantastic. Kind of like a pool lesson with Scott Lee that just transforms the way you play. HIGHLY recommended, if your kids have the motivation to...

fargo ratings aren't very good or accurate

Back in the 90's I started playing a lot of competitive chess. Just starting out with less than 6 rated tournaments under my belt I somehow managed to get a Masters ELO ranking (just a qwirk in the calculations) by beating a chess Master in a tourney where I just played WAY over my level. The...

    DigiCue - What's the Verdict

If you get bad mouthed, what do you do?

    DigiCue - What's the Verdict

You may try to get your facts straight instead of misleading people. There is no magnetometer in QMD so there is no magnetic distortion. You can put QMD on your cue butt if you'd like and there is no need to keep it level when in use, it knows which way is up. Each unit is carefully hand...

    DigiCue - What's the Verdict

As for the QMD, you can turn off the instant WHILE you're stroking audible/vibration alerts if it's bothersome, or put your phone in your pocket and just feel the vibration. Plus you get automatic shot recording for detailed 3D playback of each shot AND complete metrics to analyze all the shots...

Digicue is waiting for me at home! Thanks for donating one to our junior league OB!

No offense meant, just trying to be funny. It's admirable to help out young people. PM me with some info about your league if you're interested in getting them a QMD Stroke Analyzer unit (www.cue-md.com), I think they'd really get into it.

Was margin of error of shots ever charted?

Check out the Pool Shot Analyzer java app, you can get it from the Downloads page of www.cue-md.com. It give you lots of stats about a shot including error margin. It uses Dr. Dave's plots for pocket size from various approach angles in its calculations.

    Need a small part CNC'd

+/- 0.1mm, moderate surface mill marks OK, no heat treating QUOTE=LGSM3;5712728]most important question of all......what are the tolerances? There's a million guys who can do this fast and cheap but only a handful who can do them tight and with a nice surface finish. Those guys will...

    Need a small part CNC'd

This isn't cue related, but I'm looking for someone who can make small quantities (50, 100, 200) of this part out of clear acrylic. Please let me know if interested or if you can hook me up with someone who could help. Thanks, Steve

    Openning break rule question

Too bad for me. The 'ref' called it a rerack, though I had a nice hanger from the kitchen in the side that would have sent me off to the races...

    Openning break rule question

The break shot skims the rack and goes directly in the corner without touching a cushion. Two balls hit a rail. What's the call? A scratch or a break foul?

    Rhythm and Cadence

I think rhythm's very important, I picked it up a few years ago from a Scott Lee lesson. When I'm shooting good I have a Set/Pause/Finish (good old SPF) mantra going in my head while I stroke. I try to keep the cadence (tempo) regular. For a hard shot I have a longer backstroke, for a soft...

    Cue Acceleration - Thoughts?

Have you ever seen the QMD (www.cue-md.com )? Its software shows you the acceleration of your stroke. And a lot of other information as well.

    Cue Acceleration - Thoughts?

How do you know if you're accelerating through the ball or not? Can the shooter somehow know? Does it take someone carefully watching to tell? Does the reaction of the cue ball tell you?

OB Cues has a new product

Would you agree that what the cue is doing BEFORE it hits the ball is more important than what it does afterwards? In other words, does the stroke or the follow through have more effects on where the ball goes?

    OB Cues "Digicue" thoughts

Actually the QMD does give you instant feedback, audible and/or vibration, when your stroke goes off line. It's sensitivity to off line movements is also adjustable to your personal preferences/skill level. Plus it automatically records graphic 3-d animations of your cue's movements that can...

Unintended Wrist Movement (Twist - Bend - Flex)

I was testing a new feature for QMD (www.cue-md.com) that shows the 'roll' of the cue stick during your stroke. I was a bit surprised that almost all of the good shooters I tried it on have the 'open/close' cue roll in their stroke, though without lateral movement of the cue. I'm not sure if...
