    Stroke Tempo (?)

From some things I've read on the Internet (so it must be true) humans have a natural cadence like a comfortable walking pace ingrained in their brains. Should you model your stroke to this cadence? It's around a second back stroke, a second forward stroke. The speed of the shot is controlled...

Have you ever transitioned well to playing with a bumperless cue?

I've played my whole life with my old faithful McDermott with the prominent shamrock rubber bumper. Takes me about 3 years to wear off the shamrock. McDermott replaces the bumper when I send it in for a full cleaning. I bounce the butt off the floor a lot when playing and chalk by holding...

    Stroke Tempo (?)

In golf putting an accepted technique is to always have the same tempo when you putt (let's say 1.0 second backstroke and 0.5 second up stroke, total 1.5 seconds). On a longer putt you draw the putter back further, but maintain the same 1.0/0.5/1.5 tempo. Ball's hit further since the putter's...

So, how much do you spend on pool?

I ran across some statistic that the average US golfer spends $2400/year on his game. Thought this was pretty high, but after all golf's a bit of an elite game. But then I realized I spend nearly $50/week playing pool (granted, I play in a couple leagues year round). How much do you spend?

    Knowledge in pool (long post)

I get pissed at myself sometimes - how can that ignorant douche have beaten me? Need to put the ego away, the guy that plays better on that day usually wins. Be the better player.

Article: "101 Tips to Improve Your Game" by George Fels

I'm proud to say I'd played George a number of times at a handicapped 14.1 league at RedShoes in Chicago. He was very intimidating and clearly a fierce competitor, he really took charge. When I played him I think he was playing for love of the game and didn't hesitate to share little tibits...

What is the Angle of this Shot?

Here's a couple almost identical 45 degree cuts. The back cut looks way harder, my feel is because you don't have the short rail to gauge your aim against.

What is the Angle of this Shot?

You can get it from the Downloads page of QMD website (www.cue-md.com). The app's setup for a standard 9' pool table, so the pocket sizes, distances, etc. won't be right for snooker but the angles will be.

What is the Angle of this Shot?

It's about 48 degrees according to the pool shot analyzer app.

Once down hit the same spot on your chest with the side of your wrist to finish the shot (aka the pendulum) and the stroke is straight. Not much more to think about except hoping you lined up right. Hmmm, maybe the speed too.

    Customs Issue

Sorry, no suggestion. Had a package from Hong Kong earlier this year that sat at Chicago O'Hare customs for about 3 weeks. Couldn't find anyone to contact about it, I think that's just the way it is.

Centennials or aramith or cyclops? What's the best pool ball sets?

I've watched world champion pros warm-up by slamming shots into the corners to see how the pockets' playing and slow rolling long cuts to see how they're throwing. You need to adjust to what you're going to play with. I prefer Centennials and red circles because that's what I usually play...

    Plagarism by Jacoby cues

A bit off topic, but not much... I hardly ever play the lottery but I happened to be at the store and the pot was a gazillion or so. So I walk up to the counter behind another person and the cashier asks me to step back. I asked why, she says "so you don't see the other customer's numbers".....
