On the road from 69 -85

Great stories from mr3cushion and all the others. I've been kicking around the pool world since the early '60s and I never ran across any big gambling at 3 cushion. mr3cushion did you ever play at Grand-Olive Billiards in St. Louis? Freddie B told me he played in his only three cushion...

    League trophy

My team won the APA Division Championship one season a few years ago and we all received a blue plastic eight inch trophy. I came home proud as a peacock, that is until my eight year old said "Dad the second grade Chess Club trophies looked better than that one."

    RIP Danny Basavich

Here is a picture of Danny with the trophy I bought from him. I asked him repeatedly whether he really wanted to sell it and he assured me he did. He said he didn't have room for all his trophies. This one is first place from the 2003 Joss Northeast Nine Ball Tournament at Break Time Sports...

    RIP Danny Basavich

I corresponded with him and then his father for a while. I bought a big trophy from Danny and his father sent me gratis a home made video of Danny beating Earl Strickland. And the book about Danny was great. I know Danny had his struggles but he was another great character in the pool world...

Is your home table the same as the ones you compete on?

I have an 8-foot 30 year old Olhausen at home. I compete on very tight Diamond 8-footers at the pool hall. Pretty different between home and the pool hall but I often find that when I practice hard on the Olhausen I play better on the Diamonds. So for me, I think practicing on any table will...

    Walking with Giants 1970

I'll send you $100.00 for a signed copy of your book right now if you promise to write it. If others do the same you could get a good bankroll before you wrote the first word! You are such a good pool writer your book would live forever at or near the top of the pocket billiards greatest books...

    usps tracking

The purpose of my post was to help others learn from my error. Dumping on people who are trying to help others isn't a great operating plan. At least I got an apology --"sorry you are so sensitive" -- oh wait that's not an apology just another insult.

    usps tracking

What a condescending and insulting response to me, a long time AZB poster. There were about 30 people in line at the post office, one clerk and that was the choice I was given. I wish someone like you was with me there to help me avoid being a fool. At least I "where" a fool instead of...

    usps tracking

About five years ago I sold a cue on eBay, bought insurance, packed it up and took it to the post office. There was a long line so the clerk motioned to a big pile of packages and said if I already had a paid label just put it in the pile. I did so and the cue was never seen again. And I...

    Fatboy's Very Good Lawyer Advice

Maybe for some but if you can settle you'll never lose a case. When cases aren't settled often everyone loses; two clients pay way too much and even at that very often the "winning" lawyer eats a tremendous amount of time he can't bill.
