who has the most break and run in 9 and 10 ball on tape(video)

In the finals of one of those big tournaments in Asia, Ko Pin Yi was down 14-4 against Orcullo in a race to 15. He ran 11 racks and out to win the tournament. The video is here, but the camera is zoomed in a little too much and cuts out the bottom two corner pockets...

Step by Step, with photos, easy and safe shaft cleaning

Chris, can using rubbing alcohol instead of water harm your shafts? I've been using the Magic Eraser for years when my shafts get super dirty, but I use rubbing alcohol because it dries faster. I always thought there was a chance of warping your shafts if you just use water, but I've never been...

SVB's bad decision cost him dearly

Just by going from the wei layout alone, I think that by far and away the bank was the right shot. For people of Shane's caliber, that bank is at least 80% favorite to go in. I do know that after the match, Shane tried the shot a few times again and missed. It was probably the table he wasn't...

Alison Fisher gets demoed by an 18 year old....

If I am not mistaken, the 11 racks that Ko strung against Dennis was 10-ball. That's phenomenal.

Alison Fisher gets demoed by an 18 year old....

I would empty my entire bank account and bet that Pin wins at least 60% of the matches. This kid is not some low tier pro....he plays as good as Wu Chia Ching.

Bobby Burnett? How good of a player was he?

How good of a player was he? I also heard he had an instructional video on 9-ball that a lot of people praised. Has anyone here seen it?

    All around best american player??

You seemed to be consumed by hatred of him. Why don't you just let it go and move on with your life? John didn't say anything bad about Larry initially in this thread. He implied that some people might confuse power with skill, but that's about it. After that, you went nuts on him and started...

Is the Ice Breaker Cue Tip BCA legal

The "Madman" tips by Juan Rios are the nuts. They are all leather, and are almost as hard as phenolic. I use one on my jump break cue. I have no problem jumping with it, and it gives you more control than phenolic tips. They have also been approved by Bill Stock of the BCA.

    All around best american player??

I don't see how anyone can not say it's John Schmidt. He might be the best 14.1 player in the world, or at least he is even with the Europeans. He is a US Open 9-ball champion. He is a top notch one pocket player, with several titles in that discipline. The only game I'm leaving out is banks...

You either shoot straight or you don't...

Learning how to aim correctly for every shot, even for a beginner can be done in a few weeks. What's more important is cue alignment, and having a straight stroke to keep you aligned IMO.

Can someone explain why my eyes deceive me like this? (draw shot)

Do you drop your elbow? This can cause the tip to raise a little bit before striking the cue ball. It's hard to tell, because the elbow drop comes on the final stroke, so you won't notice it when you take your practice strokes.

PERFECT AIM REVIEW AND DISCUSSIONS BY AZers, for AZers

I think that it's only fitting to respond to your post in giant letters. I think its really cool. Even though I have nothing to say about the subject matter, again, giant letters are cool.

How Would You Play This? 4/1/10

You've got me so confused I don't even know what to say. You mentioned pocketing the 12 and leaving the cueball on the end rail, near the middle diamond. You asked me what someone would do in response to that shot. I said they could just roll up on the 3, leaving you frozen. Even if you pocket...

How Would You Play This? 4/1/10

What are you talking about? I am talking about what your opponent would do in response to YOUR shot, which is pocketing the 12 and leaving the cue ball on the end rail. I am saying that after you play your shot, your opponent could roll up on the 3-ball and hook you from the 8. You will be on...

How Would You Play This? 4/1/10

Your opponent could just roll up on the 3 and leave you frozen behind it. If he ends up getting ball in hand, it's pretty easy to free up the 8 and leave you frozen to one of his balls again. I agree that you are probably gonna get another inning at the table, I'm just saying your chances of...

How Would You Play This? 4/1/10

Maybe, if you are playing a 'C' player. But I said against a good player. You might get another inning at the table, but you are going to be in much worse shape than you were before. That's why you need to take the opportunity to win when you have it. A good player won't give you that...
