Your thoughts on outrageous cue prices

    1. They should because the cost of building a cue has risen as well. The INTELLIGENT buyers understand this. 2. $200? is 200 dollars going to change your life style? If it is, then yes, do not buy said cue. I certainly don't want you going hungry and getting so light headed that you...

Your thoughts on outrageous cue prices

I I thought I was doing a question asker a favor just recently when asking about what lathe I use and would recommend. After telling them and posting the answer I went back and looked at the web and current pricing. I should have done that first!! Had to apologize to them for recommending a...

Your thoughts on outrageous cue prices

I certainly don't aim to turn this into a "political" fire storm, however, TARIFFS are not helping either. I am not ashamed to say I use a certain amount of tooling, fixtures, and products that are made overseas in my shop and in the last number of years have seen these products double and some...

Your thoughts on outrageous cue prices

A good middleman is very good for the "builders" market. A middleman that wants to buy a builders product and place it for sale only to make a few quick dollars...not so good. I "interviewed" approximately a dozen resellers before I settled on the two I have been with for the last 15 yrs. Two...

Your thoughts on outrageous cue prices

Agree with most everything you said. Not necessarily anymore for some models. A lot of the top brand production names are very quality brand names and made overseas. Mezz and Predator come to mind right off the top of my head. Ironically, some of the different brand names are being made in...

    Barnhart snakewood merry widow

Someone doesn't know what (Suriname) snakewood is/looks like. However, there are a few other woods out there that can be referred to as "snakewood" by the locals.

Tips are an expendable item. Cut them both off or have them both cut off and install 2 tips of what you like. Looks like a couple triangles will fit the bill for you. If you're interested I have 15mm triangles available. If you don't know the story behind 15s just use some 14s.

These are generally difficult guessing games. I have nothing, but ^^^^ may be on to something. What exactly is the piece made to be? A table top....a shelve? Looks as if it has a milled edge. Bubinga can grow into a very large tree. Knowing the width of the piece would also help with a...

    Anybody use an ash shaft?

And if they find it they may get a "responsive" return! That happened to me once when I kissed my new girl friend! Very responsive! >just trying to help Freddie out responsive<reacting quickly and positively.

Does everything need to be cored?

If you're cutting points in you "might" be able to get away with it. But same as you my rule of thumb has always been coring BE even I am cutting in points.

Does everything need to be cored?

Hey Ryan.... Just curious what type of repairs you find most common on the other 1% so I can make sure I don't fall into that category! ;)

Question about vision after Cataract surgery with lens implants

Good friend of mine last summer had both eyes done. Opted for the LAL (light adjustable lenses) lenses. He is over the moon with the results. I'm still doing the research for myself but with what he has said has convinced the smarter half of the household to have hers done. She'll have her...

Is it worth going to the Billiards Expo in Philidelphia?

Plus the action tables in the down stairs at the Scanticon were a real hoot to watch. Not sure how they are now? Or even if they have them similar to the way they were.

Is it worth going to the Billiards Expo in Philidelphia?

It's been around 15 years not showing up for me. The EXPO...going to the expo. Not signing up for the women's Amateur tourney! 🥵 Last I was there it was still at the Scanticon. Great times to be had. No wait, I did go over once when it was in New Jersey. Ate at Harold's...I'm still full...

    difference in 3/8 10 and 3/8 10 modified

I've always viewed the modified pin as a modified acme style thread. I use a 3/8-11 modified/modified pin. Well it's not really a 3/8 because it's been modified to smaller major and minor diameters and that's why it carries the distinction of being a modified/modified pin. However, the reason...

Full splice vs. A-jointed cues vs. Full Core

Not sure how you could disguise the butt? Blue tape some paper around it and leave a section of the grip area uncovered? Then you'd have guys saying "well I don't grip the cue there so that changes the way it would feel to me" Joints are much easier to do with some blue tape, but the whole...
