    Austin Anyone?

I can't see why I wouldn't go to Houston. They have baseball and pool, what else is there?

    Austin Anyone?

Thanks, this is great info! I did spend a weekend in Austin a couple years ago and stopped into Buffalo's with the wife. I'm glad your opinion and mine match-up perfectly. It's a very nice spot but not exactly a player's room.

    Austin Anyone?

Well, Skinny Bob's is likely going to be my first stop and I'll certainly be PM'ing you in about a month or so. I do have a few friends in Austin that play pool but being separated and all has been good for my game. I think I'm going to want to get out a little more than they will.

    Austin Anyone?

I couldn't agree more with you. I'm actually going through a separation right now. My wife and I have been going through some issues but we're still remaining civil with each other and hold out some hope of reconciliation down the line. I'm moving to Austin because I've wanted to for a while...

    Austin Anyone?

I'll be right near Congress, a block away from the Colorado River. I know Skinny Bob's is about a 15 minute drive away so that's not so bad.

    Austin Anyone?

I'm moving from New York City to Austin, Texas in about three weeks. I'm probably going to end up visiting every single poolroom in a 30 mile radius of me within the first month but wondered if anyone here could provide a list of their favorites and what makes them your favorites.

    HELP! Airport baggage with cues

That sounds right. Either way, the entire list was rejected, not specifically cues. In my opinion, this is a minor inconvenience. Of all the years my friends and I have flown with cues, I can think of only one instance where cues were lost. That's roughly 50 people over 15 years (about 1500...

    HELP! Airport baggage with cues

They almost did allow us about a year or so ago but the TSA employees fought it. The problem is, cues are on this huge list that includes a bunch of things that are actually kinda dangerous. They haven't gone through the trouble of scrutinizing the list yet. It's just all or nothing.

    HELP! Airport baggage with cues

The only thing you cannot do under any circumstances is bring your cues on board as carry-on. Has it been done since 9/11? Yes. Is it allowed by the TSA? No. If you're checking your luggage in and plan to put your cues inside your suitcase, that should be fine. In fact, that's how I...

Has anyone tried this bridge head???

No, using the bridge can be incredibly awkward, especially in 14.1 where it's often used for bridging over a ball. In fact, I will often shoot opposite handed instead of the bridge. I'll even use an opposite-handed air-bridge in situations where you might need to stack two bridges.

FargoRate Top 10 Lists: Who is Amy Hammock?

I agree. I live in a tri-state area so having multiple sort options (state/league) would be really helpful. For the upcoming BCA Nationals, knowing everyone's FargoRate will be critical in team formation.

Diamond Systems don't work on Diamond Tables

Fair point. In relation to jump cues, I've often argued that whether or not a new piece of equipment is better doesn't necessarily mean we should use it. In baseball, there is no argument that aluminum bats are better than wood but it's wood they use because of tradition. It's not...

Diamond Systems don't work on Diamond Tables

The problem is, there is no authority in pool powerful enough to dictate how rails should play. Even if the WPA said only a certain rail could be used, there would still be thousands of pool tournaments across the country that would simply use what's available and table manufacturers would...

Diamond Systems don't work on Diamond Tables

Under that logic, all cloth should be the same too but it's not. That said, I don't think table manufacturers like Diamond go out of their way to be different. Before rushing to judgment, we first have to know the details. Are the materials different? If so, what reasons went into moving...

FargoRate Top 10 Lists: Who is Amy Hammock?

I was going through the lists on http://fairmatch.fargorate.com/ and noticed the Top 10 USA F is led by Amy Hammock with a rating of 702. I tried googling her and got zero results. Am I living under a rock or is this just a strange error?

Has anyone tried this bridge head???

Is there an advantage to having a heavy bridge? In instances where you have to get the bridge out of the way quickly, I would imagine a lighter bridge would be better.

Diamond Systems don't work on Diamond Tables

You should rephrase, YOUR diamond systems don't work on Diamond tables. I'm sure there are plenty that play on Diamonds regularly that don't have a problem. I'll say this, when I was learning the systems, Brunswick GC IIIs were the table of choice. Now it's the IV which is a much bouncier...
