straightline: "Can you provide the logic behind this?"

Being a good player won't make one automatically a good teacher. I've seen great players being really bad at teaching pool. But even a good teacher won't give free advice if he makes a living of it.

Anyone compared Rhino Carbon shaft vs Predator Vantage in terms of CB deflection?

There is no one in the country that does cue repair... I ordered the tap on ebay which cost me $65 with shipping and I used a vise grip as a handle

    New Rhino shaft.......................

According to the site it weighs 4oz which is a bit on the heavy side for CF shafts. And still 21.5mm wide at the joint which is wider than most cues. Also no 5/16x14 option.

How Important Is it to Own/Use a Break Cue

Besides the tip, the main contributor to a big break is the ability to move the cue faster. Understanding the break mechanics and our body mechanics suggests that a light cue with a forward balance will allow healthy players to move the cue faster. (Players with orthopedic issues might need a...

John Barton's Criteria for evaluating a case.

So why do you want a CueTec case if it costs more and still wants the JB interior, I'm also curious about the interior of the CueTec case. I find the JB's interior too tight for me. It also looks like a full length jump cue handle (2 pieces screwed together) will fit in the long pouch which is a...

What is the reason behind your collection?

Where did you get that interior for the case? I have a 2x4 Zero Halliburton that (luckily) has been sitting empty for years and when I've opened it recently I discovered that the foam interior had disintegrated over the years from humidity. Could be nice to revive it.

    Predator Aspire cue butts....

Predator are made in China at the same factory that also produces cheaper cues. If you can get a $200 full splice cue (sneaky pete) from these factories then I don't see a problem for those to be real inlays for $400.

Custom Pool cue makers from China?

Mezz are very popular in Europe, you can see that many European players are using them and sponsored by Mezz. It's easier to get them in Europe but you pay in Euros and that will more expensive than what it'll cost off the shelf in the USA if they were available.

Anyone compared Rhino Carbon shaft vs Predator Vantage in terms of CB deflection?

I had an issue with a Rhino shaft that did not screw all the way (on various cues) and they send to search a local cue smith to fix it, eventually I has able to tap it myself and fix it but yes, poor customer service.

Anyone compared Rhino Carbon shaft vs Predator Vantage in terms of CB deflection?

I disagree that all CF shafts play the same. I have 4 different CF shafts and they do not play the same, they are not the same in terms of stiffness and deflection. I do not have a Revo 12.4 but I do have a Revo 12.9 and it deflects less than the Rhino, the SMO and Cynergy also deflect less. The...

    Does a tip change deflection

Front end mass and weight influence deflection so theoretically tips with different weight and mass make a difference but in reality the tip mass is neglectable.

Is this an old Viking cue or fake?

You can find the whole Viking catalog here: https://www.vikingcue.com/viking-cues-catalog-archives/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJBEMdleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHQvsR4CkeDtcCvHomxReMw1b3taVinKchgbjIiWq4faEc6bZDt0pD304_Q_aem_af4-TrvtxZYKAk7a1PXclQ I think that the logo is a fake

    Predator Aspire cue butts....

I don't see those cues on Predator's web site anymore, they might have discontinue them. The only reason to get a Predator cue is to get a Predator shaft but the Aspire series came with a solid maple shaft, not one of their tech spliced shafts so I would pass on it. For about $400, you can get a...

straightline: "Can you provide the logic behind this?"

Exactly but before that some secrets were hidden and unless you know physics it wasn't that obvious. Things like hitting the rail first on a frozen ball, or throw and even deflection is misunderstood even today with so much info and buzz around it.

    Predator Aspire cue butts....

It’s radial pin just shorter, you’ll see those something on jump cues. You can still attach a standard shaft with radial joint to it.

straightline: "Can you provide the logic behind this?"

The pros want your money by offering instructional and training sessions for pay. Many of them earn their living by doing that as we all know that there isn’t much money in pro pool. So this is why you’ll get vague answers from them. You might think that it’s all there in the open but there are...
