I actually like the reddish color, and the white veneers give nice contrast.

What era of Schon plays best? (Cue Geek Talk)

of course, that's what I said... There is definitely a difference in the hit with different butts while using the same shaft/tip.

That blurry logo sure does look like a Jim Pierce cue to me. And looking at this for sale cue, looks very similar https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/new-jim-pierce-6-point-ebony-heartwood-bem-upgraded-ringsets-leather.581138/#post-8288085

    Slow Rolling Question

Either your aim is off, or your stroke is off or your table is off or a combination of the above. Fix what is off. Slow rolling should be avoided as much as possible as most tables are not 100% leveled and even if the table is perfectly level, all it takes is a tiny grain of chalk to make the...

    Thorsten Hohmann

I think that ex European players that represented Europe in the past, should not play for the USA. That goes for Hohmann and Gorst as well, maybe Shaw down the road... although looks like there is a little biff going around between him and Gorst... It could become a funny scenario where the...

What era of Schon plays best? (Cue Geek Talk)

One of the stiffest cues that I ever hit with was a Purple Heart SW. It's true that all solid maple shafts are hi-deflection, but not all are the same and different shafts had different pivot point, and if that point is right at the point where you naturally hold the cue and bridge, then...

What era of Schon plays best? (Cue Geek Talk)

I disagree. I have 6 cues with 5/16x14 SS joint and I've used them all with the same shafts and tips and there is definitely a difference between them in terms of stiffness of the hit. Same goes for a bunch of cues that I have with 3/8x10 cues.

Share with us your $30,000 plus cues 😅

I have a memorabilia cue that I got during the 2003 World Pool Championships. I got the cheapest cue I could find with the most bright surface and got a bunch of players to sign it. I'll sell it for 30K and if someone will buy it then it'll become a 30K cue  Some of the...

Anybody ever purchase a cue from....

I've dealt with them a lot in the past, I used to resell pool equipment locally when shopping on-line internationally was a bit more complicated and scary... I've used both J&J and Seyberts and both were great to deal with. My first big cue was a McDaniel that I got from J&J.

Looking for a solid American cue

I don't know how any of those brands play today with the next generation builders, but I'll add my 2 cents from my experience with all these brands from 15-20 years ago, I had a Plain Jane Joss (Dan Janes era) that I sold, I have two Schons (Evan Clark era) and a Jacoby (David Jacoby era). All...

Matchroom, WNT, Mosconi Cup, and American Pro Pool

Well just think about it, if we look at the Olympics, the USA usually have the largest delegation, they win more medals and gold medals than most other countries (used to be a tight race with the USSR back in those days but that's gone), and the only reason for that is that the USA has a lot of...

Matchroom, WNT, Mosconi Cup, and American Pro Pool

American pool players used to be superstars, even for pro level players from Europe and Asia. This is not the case anymore, so it makes no sense to focus that much on America. Pool fans around the world would prefer to pay and watch non American players. Only SVB and Gorst bring any interest and...

    Constant Tip Shaping is annoying!

This and the hardness inconsistency with time made me switch to hard tips almost 20 years ago. I do feel that with CF shafts, tips loose shape faster than they do on wooden shafts. I do need to shape it more often than I’ve used to in the past. The truth is that there isn’t much difference in...
