What would be the equivalent of the Eurotour in the US?

Well, here you go. I wasn't that far off with "many", then :-) Thanks! And yes, the level of organization/structure is very different in Europe. The BCA doesn't really do, what the EPBF and/or local federations do. If they should or if pool as a sport would benefit from them doing so, would...

What would be the equivalent of the Eurotour in the US?

Depends on how far you take "equivalent", but it's the EPBF organizing it. That would be a tour in the US, organized by the BCA(?). Non-Profit. I am not sure, what the payouts are on the Eurotour, but it's also intended to be the "Top-Tier-Open-Regular-Sport-Competition", besides the European...

    Cue case with storage

I roll them out when I come in and put the ball tray on top of them. By the time I warmed up with a rack or two, they flattened out alright. They will go back to real flat.

    Cue case with storage

Get one of these and roll it up: sink drain tailpiece. The outsville template will roll back to flat, the others don't. You can cut it to 11". Will fit in the bigger pocket of your case.

    Fargo and Handicaps

I do understand why there are handicap systems, but I don't like the lack of open competition below Open/Pro level. As much as Fargo would be nice to track skill progress, if all you play in is handicapped, it's like driving with handbrakes on. And, yes, one could say: push more to still drive...

    Multi-level seeding

Kind of similar concept in Germany for registered players to play in those tiered tourneys. Any registered player with a club association can sign up for a yearly county tournament (Kreismeisterschaft) they do for each game (8,9,10-Ball and straight). The top 8 or so qualify for the district...

    Best template rack?

The Outsville Accu-Rack had 2 things going for them over the Magic Rack for me: holes are tapered, while racking you can push forward and balls will fall back into place against each other you can roll it up and put into a 1 1/2-inch pipe (a standard sink drain pipe is 12" long, and you need...

American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship (Oct 24-29), Norfolk, Winner $10K

Not Eurotour, but the European championship is every year and done in 8,9,10 and 14.1. The league system in Germany is a team combo league, one Matchday is covering 2 of each. So, yes, there is way more competitive opportunity on 14.1 in Europe.

    Anyone using Matchroom Live?

Add-On-Thought: In my ideal world I would pay even a little more, and have really all matchroom content available all the time. the site works well.

    Anyone using Matchroom Live?

I signed up for the US Open. It worked very well and price is very fair, I think. Once DAZN took over, streams were gone. I VPNed and it still worked then. you can watch 2 tables (technically 4) side by side, which is nice. I wish they would post their youtube stuff there as well. Or at least...

    Wrong Ball

Thank you! Was thinking the same. Many of these shots on that channel's videos are no picnic and some might even still be valid/successful two-way-shots.

    US Open draw/brackets.................

two of the commentators today talked about it. It's on purpose and the players like it. Split into 2 groups and having a day off and more games on the same day. Alternative might be some players playing 2 matches over 4 days.

Formats for leagues around the world

The "horrible" was for the handicapping part. Short races can be a lot of fun.

Formats for leagues around the world

Only other thing I remember were some tournament series in Spielothek locations. Those locations are like Dave&Busters + Slot Machines. There was some tension as they were not sanctioned by the German Billiard Organization. Club players risked to loose their league spots, if they took part...

Formats for leagues around the world

Yes, but there was a tool all games were entered. Standings (-> relegating) was as a team. But they had stats for each player: Win percentage, games played|lost|won and for straight pool they also had the GD, an average balls potted per inning, and High Run. If you watch Ortmann playing straight...

Formats for leagues around the world

That sounds horrible. You play someone 2 racks, break only one of them and get handicapped for balls left on the table? In Germany there were tiered cup tournaments besides team leagues. A "county", "district" and then state and national championship for each discipline. The most fun though...

Formats for leagues around the world

Higher division, being "less local" and more regional, of course, would come with more time spent travelling. In Germany league days were Sundays and not during the week. The better a player is and the more he/she wants to compete even, the more effort/travel is involved. This is all rooted...

Formats for leagues around the world

Perfectly fine comment. "missing" was the other word I had in mind, but sounds almost the same. To me, personally, it's lacking. I think it would be beneficial to especially B and A level players (or Fargo 520-650). I think those get bored in APA, if they are a little competitive and they are...

Formats for leagues around the world

I am repeating myself, as there were similar threads: In the US, there are pretty much no divisions of skill. It's all one division, with each player handicapped. Of course, on the very top, you have open tournaments (e.g. nationally the Predator Series, regionally a NE Joss Tour/Tourning...
