Hey Guru! Welcome to Colorado! Where are you? I used to play at Galaxy NE for many years. Played on their SWEL and nineball team. Then I played on a team for the Billiard Factory. What ever happened to Don Hoppe, he was a character! I had a great cue by Mike Wheeler when he was with Black...
The cue wax will help seal the end grain on your shafts and the joint if you have a flat faced joint with exposed wood. You can get it at any good billiard supply shop, it used to be called "Kar Seal" but now is just called "Cue Wax". Comes in a plastic jar that looks like a shoe polish can...
First, my favorite cuemaker of all time has got to be Skip Weston. He's great to deal with and his work is second to none. Flawless workmanship, the best points in the business and great playability. For those of you who have not seen his work, he uses natural hardwood for his veneers, no...
I'm sure that you don't remember, but we met at a tournament many years ago at Galaxy Billiards in San Antonio. I think you won it. You are friggin hilarious man!

First, never be surprised at what some people will stoop to. Second, I always use a cashiers check from my bank (they can help track when/where it's cashed if need be) and send using USPS priority mail with confirmation of receipt. You can track the package on the USPS...
Jim - although I entered for one of the cases, and I do hope to win one, I just want to say what a gracious gesture this is and to wish you best of luck in the future. Chris.
Good call Big Jon, I use joint protectors on all my cues and have consistently for years. Joint protectors and storing in a good case as vertical as possible are very important. Additionally, I always use cue wax on the exposed end grain of the shafts.
I played quite a bit in San Antonio while I was there, at Galaxy Billiards on the Northeast side. It's closed now but used to be a great room. I keep up with the 3C's pretty well. I work Civil Service now as a planner/Treaty Compliance Officer for NORAD and AFSPACE Command. I worked up in...
I was at Ramstein from 79 - 82, Incirlik 82 - 84, Vandenberg 84 - 86, Randolph 86 - 94, I retired at Randolph in 94 and moved to Colorado Springs in 95. I was just kidding about Altus being beautiful! Where do you play there?
Iwas a 42152 (aircraft hydraulics) for the first 4 years, then a 3C0X1 for 20...RAF Bentwaters, Wright-Patt, Ramstein, Incirlik, Vandenberg, Randolph...was on the IG for almost three years and visited beautiful Altus on occasion.

You might also want to look at Ron Thomas' cases. First class workmanship, the case is virtually air tight and Ron is a great guy. His number is 337-237-0163. You can see some of his cases at the IndyQ website.

I played with Southwest cues for many years but won't order another one and have to wait for eight or nine years. Currently play with a Skip Weston cue and have another one coming in a week or so. For those of you who have not dealt with Skip or played with his cues, I strongly...
