US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

Yup, and he's so confident and smooth, it makes him fun to watch. Conversely, while someone may play an absolutely perfect set, if they play slow, walk around the table a few times and agonize on every shot, it can be painful to watch (despite how good they may play). I can tolerate slow in...

SVB withdraws from future WPA events

LOL, I guess it would depend on your definition of "athlete". I work out regularly but am closing in on 60 years old and am 50 pounds overweight. I wouldn't call myself an athlete just because I work out.

SVB withdraws from future WPA events

Was the "athletes" part photoshopped in? Can we call pool players "athletes"? I'm saying no.

    $2500 for this GC3

I bought a GC2 for $600 that was in pretty good shape. I played with it for a few years but the pockets were buckets so I went with a Diamond. Funny, I went from way too loose to way too tight. I'd rather play on tight than loose though. Hold out and keep watching. Like many mentioned here...

    $2500 for this GC3

I'm not sure of your area, but where I live, if you're willing to wait long enough, these tables come up for sale ridiculously cheap. A buddy of mine was looking for a table. It took him about 6 months, but he found a MINT GC3 for 1K. It was purchased as a home table, meticulously maintained...

1 week until SVB vs Fedor Gorst Race to 120 August 15 to 17th

Work? I thought this site was for pool players. Here's my prediction: SVB will start steamrolling and we'll see Gorst, for the first time, give up and fold. It's going to be a bloodbath. 120-92.

    Situation Last Night

I had no idea you get request to be put into the field. I always thought everyone had to be auctioned and only no-bids went into the field pool.

    Bergman vs. Bustamante?

One of those two could run the set out in 5-6 innings.

    State Open Tournaments?

I think this is a great idea. Handicapping by the entry fee isn't a big incentive for a sandbagger. Handicap by games on the wire and a sandbagger could get swindle his/her way into thousands. Handicapping by variable entry fees might net them a few hundred (a lot less incentive). I...

    Sold Tim Scruggs Hoppe

Going by your pics, the butt and shafts appear to be longer than 29". Is that just because of a weird camera angle?
