Whenever I'd go to Palace billiards in SF, the showcase of cues for sale always had several Rich models, and I'd stand there and drool.

Anybody remember this older guy who played at the palace in the 70's....he was obviously a weigh-lifter, because at the balance point of his cue there was a circular steel weight that must have weighed 3-5 lbs. and twice the diameter of the butt. He seemed to play okay.

I had a Palmer with 7 shafts of different lengths, from 57.5 to 61". Kept forcing the issue with the longer lengths, because the length felt so natural, but eventually I'd always come back to the 57.5".

No disrespect, but if I had to play any pro for my life, naturally with a spot, I'd want to play Hopkins.

Is it me or have the last 2 years seen rise to a large number of young "monsters" with long strokes who seem to shoot straighter than the average pro.
