    World Snooker Proffesional Championships 2012

:D Regardless, I'm with The Thaiger: Ebo is alright in my books, 'milkman's hat' for a tip or no (courtesy of John Parrott).

Yes, I'm aware. ;) Regardless, Higgins lives to play another day.

    Great stuff, thanks for that.

2012 World Snooker Championships Starts Saturday

Higgins looking well out of sorts against Liang: slumping posture, red eyes, dejected gaze. I don't know his personal habits, but perhaps there was some (over)celebration of 420 day yesterday;)?

    Predator Snooker Cue

Well, this is unexpected. I'm not certain that the look of these cues will catch on with those that already play snooker, unless the performance is game changing. Price is a factor, too: if the P3 snooker cue costs ~$500, that sort of investment gets you into a hand-made cue from John Parris...

    Help settle an argument

Yes, and having watched both those matches, a 'simple' roll up isn't nearly so simple in such circumstances.

This is one awesome snooker frame.

Thanks, Celtic. That was dynamite to watch (elevated heart rate and all).

    Thinking about a Schon...

I've been curious about Schon cues, too. I haven't been able to hit with one, but there are lots of good things written about them. They look solid for the money.

    My Itsy Bitsy Collection

2 things that bug me in posts

I'm a social anthropologist by training, but I also dabble in sociology and political economy. I really enjoy teaching, sometimes to the detriment of my research projects, but very much to the service of my overall enjoyment of work and life. Now, if only there were time to play some pool...

2 things that bug me in posts

I would tend to agree. I grew up on a farm, in very modest financial circumstances, and people in the community worked like fiends. I spent a good portion of my youth at a number of jobs, all laborious, and then spent 12 years attending university, and now work in one. I frequently cross...

how to make a decent cue in a few easy steps

Jesus, what a stunning piece of art. I never get worked up over a cue. Well, almost never. More pics of this, and anything like it, are welcome at any time, please and thank you.

    Great, thanks for the suggestions.

    14.1 instructional books?

I don't get out to play much of any kind of pool these days, but when I do (such as last night, and unless there is a snooker table), I'm only interested in 14.1. Most immediate problem: I can pocket balls, but my 'patterns' look more like Rorschach blotches. I find myself moving the cue ball...

Recut Points + Crazy Wood = Sugartree @ SBE

    Yowza. Knockout cues.
