    Aiming very close cuts

Yes, all that is obvious. Disregarding all this AC and CCB stuff if one follows Shermans directions on what to do you will overcut the ball. Do you have an opinion on that?

    Aiming very close cuts

I understand what you're saying but if your shaft is addressing the cb at any position along the circumference (in the diagram it's with extreme left english) and you pivot to absolute center, is not the shaft pointing thru the center of the cb? It may not be pointing from the correct position...

    Aiming very close cuts

You should know. All I did was set up the balls as in his diagram, aim down the indicated line then pivoted to CCB. The center of my shaft was dissecting the CB with equal distance to left and right edges. If that doesn't also point at absolute center then I stand corrected. 6th grade dropout...

    Aiming very close cuts

Well I haven't. If they were they shouldn't have been because they're two completely different things. Don't believe me then check the dictionary, it's crystal clear. Pool is a game of precision and accuracy. To use ambiguous language when explaining or teaching concepts or methods is a...

    Aiming very close cuts

It's a struggle sometimes but the evidence for a candidate in this thread is quickly mounting.

    Aiming very close cuts

Ah, no. Stand aligned and down in your stance are two different things. Ah, no. A parallel shift and a backhand pivot are not the same. Now it's absolute center instead of ccb. May need another diagram cuz I've no clue what all that means. You're an instructor and are not aware of front hand...

    Aiming very close cuts

Pretty obvious, at least for those of us who can read and comprehend.

The new I can’t get better without a gadgets are in

This may be your best post ever. I'm on board all the way. The biggest benefit is peace of mind. The more you drink the less you gaf when you miss.

    Aiming very close cuts

Forgetting for the moment that isn't the shot in question and that what you're saying now is different from your first post... I must be doing something wrong because when I try what you suggest I overcut the ball by a large amount. Pivot how? Backhand, front hand, both? You don't specify.

    Aiming very close cuts

Can you or anyone else either diagram this or explain it better because maybe it's just me but what you said is very hard to visualize.

How would you play this 9ball shot?

Your lines are a bit off. The 1st 2 look good but you then want the CB to track towards the middle diamond on the long rail past the side. You'd then be shooting the 7 in the same pocket as the 6. This will also allow for easier, more natural position on the 8. Danger is getting too straight on...

    Men vs Women

Yes, and Kristina Tkach also had an opinion about this topic on Joey Ryan's podcast. She had trouble not laughing when asked if women could ever compete with the top men players. There are multiple reasons, some of which are noted in this thread. The main reason, other than aggressiveness...

Billiards as a way to teach proper behavior

Doesn't have to. AI is in control of both their brains. This is the future of pool.

    Was this a good hit?

As others have said the direction of the 3 confirms it was ball 1st. It's not debatable.

My scratch % is high on this break...

You're likely thinking of cut induced throw (CIT) as opposed to spin induced throw (SIT) which was what I was referring to. CIT has the opposite affect which would make it worse.

Pattern advice knowledge. step on in.

Jewett kind of hit the nail on the head in regards to your situation. Without a larger shot repertoire and lacking proper position knowledge, patterns are a moot point. Even if you recognize them execution will be a big problem, particularly in run out 8 ball. That takes a pretty strong skill...

My scratch % is high on this break...

Problem with that is speed. It's approximately a half ball hit on this shot which means throw effect is negligible. To undercut the ball and make it would require some amount of SIT which from that distance and angle means a soft speed. The problem with that speed is you'll lose the draw by...

    More Tip Position Discussion

Just curious, do you understand the concepts I put forth? Reason I ask is because the original explanation of your choices and consequent analysis of what actually happened on the shot are a little suspect.
