Any thought to using lower end Players or McDermott Lucky 2 piece cues? They can be found in the $40-$50 per cue range.

That's good information. I hadn't given much thought to the effect of the carbon on the feedback and feel of the cue. Hopefully someday the shop I go to will get one in so I can hit one!
