    G10 pin pros/cons?

I do agree that if you put any clear or something on, naturally it would wear off. Would do some experimenting on this to see how things performs-my first idea would be raw pollishing and then some wax on shaft and pin:smile: Is that Double Dave by the way-or do I mix ? K

Coring Lathe & Combo Pack Promotional Offer

Many comment on this before I managed, but I did not ask the manufacturer of my 750kg lathe how many cues they had made, nor have I asked how many cars my mechanic have made using his custom tools when I hand my car for service. I see your point though. As a dedicated machine it should be...

    G10 pin pros/cons?

Never used the G10 but have both a Uniloc and 3/8x10 minor (in G10) in my hand now and was just wondering-to reduce any potential wear on the shaft- could these not be treated with some wax/CA(as mentioned by others)/finnishing oil for wood and pollished to make them better? I like the looks...

    My CNC lathe design

I guess this is not the version you are finnishing up but the prototype? Spooky config you got there with the stacked - cracked - pile of wood as a base for the headstock bearings:o Guess you plan to make it all mounted on a good metal base when your prototyping is done? Looks like a fun project :-)

My lathe and everything with it is up for grabs

This is the first time I ever seen any close ups of this machine - the manufacturers pics is for sure not there to motivate to buy one since you could hardly judge how this works.... The machine looks good but could some one which has used/own this help me out : - Is the carriage running on...

Introducing "The Beast XL" Cue Building Lathe & new Dual Live Center concept

Same in my end. If you use a phone (Edit:to film) you might have your hand over the mike at one point, and then if you remove -the volume goes bananas.

Introducing "The Beast XL" Cue Building Lathe & new Dual Live Center concept

I guess it helps watching video with volme on... Had it off to keep my wife out of the picture:smile: I can see the ballbearing resting on the tapper bare could me moved up and down to roll on the two areas on the tapper bar however the tapper bar it self seems not to be adaptive for a pro...

Introducing "The Beast XL" Cue Building Lathe & new Dual Live Center concept

Is the pictured (and video) setup ment as a tapper machine since you have the custom Taig headstock or was this just to keep TIR low on the headstock? I guess a dual chuck headstock could be moved along the bed since the feed motor would be a independant one? Interesting machine. K

    Omega DPK , A-Joint Revealed

Just so I grab the concept here; In stead of turning a tennon in the forearm-live thread this to a matching live threaded handle-they turn a large hole for the live threded phenolic in both ends, just to be able to add weight to balance the cue? Did they only use epoxy mixes to add weight? Did...

    one piece cores

I got to a point where I had so many cues, and tried them, that I thought I would like to experiment with my own things in stead of constantly buying and selling.... Wel-if I sum up the money I have spent so far on machines, tools, wood the lot - I think I could have bought any cue I could have...

Cues that take years to build?

Cuemakers have a life which is not filled with 24/7 woodturning;-) Several customers I have seems to forget that I try to have a normal life in between and can't always jump when they say so.. K

Good post Royce ! I guess you have run through a couple of gallons of glue... Did you use GG / Poly on the old fullcored cue series ? K

Cues that take years to build?

As Chris mention, some things need to be done over time. If you have a good stock of wood-you work on it to make it ready for a project. I have a customer waiting for 2 years because I had no Gabone in stock. Now I have turned the but for 2 years to make it stable-where my backup wood has warped...
