i dont see where the shape of the chalk matters with regards to wear and ease to apply if you brush the tip with the chalk. its easy to get a square chalk holder for the round taom v10 to prevent it from the "roll and hide". jmho

the g2 tips i have bought recently have been fine

You might want to consider one of the keilwood shafts as far as low deflection and still being wood
