    Mcgoorty

I've read the book and have had a copy for about 30 years or so. My favorite scene was when he hopped a passenger train to go west not realizing there's no play to ride without a ticket on a passenger train and that's why you hop a freight train.

Probably not pirating since there's no ship involved, but I would think the publisher that owns the copyright might have an issue under this regulation. What is copyright infringement? As a general matter, copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced...

Old fiber ferrules cut like paper

Yeah it was what came on the old McDermotts, I believe it was made from cellulose (wood pulp) and cotton fiber and I'm sure plenty of chemicals. I have a bag of them too, still use one every once in a while.

    My cue smells bad

This is probably caused by too many sh*t shots.

    Mount Rushmore of pool?

And he was a perfect gentleman and put forth a really good image for pool. I met him at a BCA show and I asked him to autograph a print I had of him and he said gladly and then asked if I would like for him to date it. He was getting on in the years at that time.

    W on the butt cap?

Back in about 1984 I was at a Clyde Childress memorial tournament in Richmond Ky. and bought into a raffle and won a Robert Weir cue and satin jacket. Weir was there and was showboating like he actually made the cues but in truth they were made by Adam on contract. I still have the satin jacket.

    Measurable Improvement from Equipment Change

When I felt I was playing my best I was rotating cues about every two weeks. They were all similar hits I used a Bill McDaniel, Josswest, Paul Mottey, early 80s Schon and a Gus Szanboti. I felt like as I rotated cues it helped me keep my focus and not relax too much and get sloppy.

If you can get these through airport security, why not a pool cue?

I flew once with a cue in checked baggage. I put it in a Kelli hard case and put that in an overcase that was lockable with a TSA padlock. When I got it back it was ok but the TSA padlock was left unlocked from where they took it out to check it and failed to lock it back. Got lucky and...

The common wage for servers is $2.19 an hour before tips. But it is a service industry so if you want to ne tipped properly you should give good service. But they have a job I couldn't do without going to jail for a long time. But the numbers quoted earlier 75 to 125 per cent is ridiculous...

You know the old table's rails were finished with linseed oil and would burn very little and the cigarette would go out if left there.

    Unusual/weird/unique billiard tools and implements

That's a Taylor tenoning machine for cutting tenons for ferrules. Worked kinda like a pencil sharpener but with the taper just square shoulders. They were fairly common in pool rooms when I was young for the owner who repaired his house cues.

    Archer's Place, Marietta Ga...??

No Nick is a good long term friend of the owner but Phil has no partners in his business. It is probably one of the most successful pool rooms in the country and has been in business for a total of 42 years. And like most successful pool rooms pool is the entertainment and food and drink is...
