I have a customer that has called me to move a table and the only thing i was told is its a imperial 8. I'm thinking its a old 1pc fischer. Anyone know?

    Imperial

Yea its a shame. He's ready to retire but not like this i presume. I picked up a black from him today. I want his cutting table. He said he's selling it for 500. He's shipping the little bit he has left to danny vegh's next week and they are going to take his place shipping cloth for mali. Since...

    Loose Rails

That was my thought before i got to your reply. I've also epoxied the lag bolts into the rails as well on 70's brunswick tables which is what the sears table is essentially. If you do the epoxy make sure you don't over tighten the nuts that is what caused the problem in the first place...

    Imperial

I heard they were going or out of business. Kenny at cincy billiard conn. is closing the doors at the end of the month. I was interested in taking over that business when he wanted to retire but the money he's lost in the last 2 years not taking the chance:(

    Rubber back Cloth

Backed cloth has no advantage other than the bar who doesnt want to recover it very often. Or someone who is paying doesnt use it and doesnt charge people to like a break room at a factory or something like it. It sucks to reinstall and is like playing on a pillow. I don't know any one on this...

Slate at the pockets seems to slope

Someone may correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the contender slate is no different than any other brunswick slate and usually its pretty darn flat. My guess is its the install or your imagination:)

Bringing Gold Crown 1's back to life

I will answer some of this and let the rest be handled by the other all knowers on here. BSSpeeds are all K55. The difference know to then is the size from back to front along the top of nose. So to get the new ones to be properly installed on the rails you will need to cut about a 1/8" off the...

Balls popping out of leather pockets...

A pic from the top looking into the pocket would help a little more. Those are very poor quality pockets though regardless. I doubt its from the install probably the pockets themselves. The table is made by elephant balls. They got into the table importing maybe 8 years or so ago. Out of...

    3 piece slate warp

Ok. Imperial or Kasson it sounds like. so yes fill in the open space between crossbeams so you would then have a place to put the shims.

    3 piece slate warp

Yes a very thin shim between c & d between slate and a & b and hit very slowly no need for extra beam just put them where the frame is

    3 piece slate warp

Try laying a 4ft. level on edge across where the sag is and looking at the light then using a very thinnly shaved angle wedge between the slate and frame in the middle from end of peice to center on both sides very slowly and hoplefully you will watch the light disappear.

    Help With Table Identity

I'd go really high and if you get it fine if not oh well. Looks like a nightmare i wouldn't have time for.

    ?

That is exactly right. Though the ID label on the crossbeam says orleans. Was this table priced much lower than the orleans?

    Identifyong Gold Crowns

If you look at the underside of a rail you can quickly tell if its a GC1 or not. If it has a big nut plate in the shape of a 8 for the rail bolts it is a GC1 they didn't start the floating nut plate in the rail until GC2.

    ?

I am buying this table today and will take pics of it than try and post them. From the pics the guy has it looks like the orleans but doesn't have all the ornateness so i am wondering if its a basic orleans or a different table all together. Still nice looking though for a very resellable price...

    ?

Does anyone know what model brunswick table from the last 20 years or so was made with the #3 iron pocket style other than the Orleans?

    Brunswick Superspeed Cushion Speed?

I agree. In the past week ive done two sets of superspeeds on a GC1 and GC2 and the cushions were very ragged canvas was overflowing everywhere. Had to do alot of trimming and sanding along the top of the rail. And i did a set of Tour Edition K66 on a Vitale and the Tour E.'s were so much nicer...

T Rail vs Vertical bolt rails

I can't believe there is this much of an arguement that t rails are better. Its no contest. Modern day rails are better as long as the rail is cut right and the cushions are good. Ive done quite a few antiques where the rails can't even be interchanged on the same table left of head won't even...
