Need Help With Thomas Aaron Rails.

Ive installed quite a few new Thomas Aaron tables. Alot of problems after a couple of them you knew you needed different slate screws and different featherstrips. The strips where actually just to fat for the groove they where hard to get in and out without cloth. They would send 2 extra strips...

T Rail vs Vertical bolt rails

I agree the T Rails play clunky. I personally feel through the slate connection is far superior also.

    E-Bay listing

I wonder if he knows for sure they are from a brunswick. They may be from a National. I think Cuemaster even made a table with corner castings like that.

    Slate Frame

Tables with slate liners you can't angle shim from outside the liner will bend down. So you must use angle shims on inside of table. I use flat shims by lifting slate and sliding them in from outside you can change the height very slightly depending on how far you push the stacked up flat shims...

    3 piece slate question

You can remove the cloth to fix the issue and reuse it. Just take it off without harming it. If its stapled you will most probably have to get out your tack remover and start prying staples.:sorry:

    Slate Frame

With a slate backing or not your going to have the same sag. Once you get the slate level and the screws are secured tightly into the particle board. Glue angle shims on both sides of the cross beams so the middle of each seam is even. if your worried bout the space between slate and side pocket...

    3M Spray Adhesive

I have to say out of all the techniques on doing things ive seen posted gluing bar table rails is the most intriguing. I don't do that many so not a big deal but i always thought the recess on the whole middle section on the back was for staples? Also the reason why ive always felt they rebound...

    Slate Frame

What 9ft table has particle board as a top liner? I agree no need for backing on the slate. If the particle board liner is secured well and doesn't have much give it is ok as well. The big problem you might encounter is the amount of sag a 9ft table has in the middle especially one with a...

    fredwick willys

seeing 1 fredwick willys is to many and ive seen a few. I would bet from the pics of the table that it was a nonslate willys with a 1 piece particle board bed and it was transformed into a slate bed. Did it have knobs under the cross beams that you could turn in and out?

    Table leveling issues

Did you level the frame first before putting on the slate? Turn all the legs up and find which is high and turn the other three legs to level no reason for all four legs to be turned out. In case you don't have a machinists level nor want to spend the money for one to setup one table. Make sure...

    Cushions for 1960's Fischer Table?

Keep in mind when the cushion dries up like that you won't be able to get a very accurate measurement of the cushion compared to the way it was new. Call someone in your area who is trying to make a living at this and they will make sure the right cushion is put on.
