    Pool shooting shoes

New Balance 1540 most of the year. However, I have to switch to snowshoes usually sometime in late December or early January. Use to have a problem with the person at the next table stepping on them when I was shooting. Finally, the owner was forced to tell me to take them off when I came in...

    Whats you favorite game

My likes in order would be straight, 9 ball, one pocket, and last but not least, 8 ball. Straight pool and 8 ball give you a number of balls to choose from when playing the game. 9 ball is more challenging in a sense because it is a rotation type game and depends heavily on controlling...

To all the Mike Dechaine Nay-Sayers.

Knowing Mike and his genuine interest for the game, I have no doubt that if he took lessons from John Brumback, he would probably win the Derby City bank championship within a couple of years. Mike is determined to be the best. Sure, he makes mistakes, doesn't everyone? Let it go, it's time...

Congrats Mike Dechaine for taking down the Eastern State Championship @ Snookers, RI

Could it be that everyone, including yourself, was mesmerized in what they had just witnessed?

Congrats Mike Dechaine for taking down the Eastern State Championship @ Snookers, RI

I don't think I have ever seen anyone shoot as well as Mike did in his match against Joey. Mike missed one shot in 9 racks. This was an exhibition of, if you want to win a match, keep your opponent in his/her seat. I think Joey was only at the table twice. Mike was firing shots into the...

Review - Instroke Leather Cue Case

Bought a 3 X 5 about 4 years ago at a great sale price. Real pleased and still looks great. All in all, it's a great case.

    How Do You Aim?

That's what I thought. I line up with my right foot and eye position over the actual path that the cue ball is going to take to make the shot. I tend to visualize the contact to contact and then make a slight adjustment with my body and head during my pre shot routine. I probably shouldn't be...

    How Do You Aim?

One question I have is; When you get behind the shot line on your pre shot routine, is it on your contact to contact point, or do you move when you parallel shift? I appreciate you starting this thread and I hope a lot chime in to help with tips to improve one's game.

best game to play at home by yourself

I take note of my most troublesome shots. Then, when on a practice table, I set the shot up using hole reenforcers or "donuts" as I call them. You can shoot the same shot over and over and also play different positions off from the shot. It's a good way to learn how to make the shot and also...

    Random: Anyone play Backgammon anymore?

Did I ever. Back in the 80's, at work, 3 of us use to play during our lunch hour. Loser had to donate $$$ to a pot. We built up a little over $300 and then took a trip into Boston. We had heard there was a place where you could go and drink freshly brewed beer. If I remember correctly it...

    Manila musings

I was there back in the early 60's. Manilla was pretty rough then, can't imagine what it must be like now. Being in the Navy, spent most of my time in Subic Bay. Loved the Philippines, I can see why people retire there.

    Mcdermott D-19

I picked up a D-19 about 5 years ago. Immediately sent it to Mcdermott for refinnishing. One of the best cues in my opinion and I wouldn't part with it. Just love the looks of it and hits real nice also.

    Got 3 hours??? An Idea.....

This is a great idea. Tor has a lot of great stuff in his freebies and his download. You can count me in for 2 reasons: 1. Sharing ideas about pool is a great way to learn. It's like bits and pieces that make up a puzzle. Sooner or later, hopefully the light will go on and you will have one...

thank you to CJ Wiley for teaching, learning, growing and sharing!

If you went strictly by the title of the thread, the only ones that should be posting are the ones that wish to thank CJ. Those that wish to bash should start their own thread and then they could have at it. Irregardless, I've said my peace and I'm outta here. "Long live CJ and TOI" Over and...

thank you to CJ Wiley for teaching, learning, growing and sharing!

Thanks, I did that to get a response from you to prove my point. This crap, goes nowhere. I'm not learning anything useful from this banter. I'd rather hear what CJ has to say. Hey CJ -- Now when I cut a ball to the left I use just a touch of inside? Seriously, I have your CD's and as I...
