    Deflection useful?

I won't claim to know what went on in Mosconi's mind, but "worried" he was not. But that is not the point. Mosconi didn't play with a predator when he ran his 526. However, if you give a pro any cue that's foreign to the cue he normally plays with, he'll figure it out in 2 weeks and probably less.

    Deflection useful?

Deflection shmeflection. All you require is consistency from your cue. It's not like Mosconi worried about deflection. All 3C players play with deflection. They're not looking to replace their cues with Predators.

How did the ball colors and numbers start?

I prefer to think of the sky/outer space as real blue :smile: because that way, on my first trip to the planet Jupiter I will be in awe that "Why, it's not blue at all, is it!"

    Ways to remove shaft discoloration?

Do not use wax or furniture polish. You do not want to do anything that will give your cue shaft tack.

How did the ball colors and numbers start?

Well said, but not practical in any way because people don't think about the physics of "controlling light" when they mix paints at their local Sherman Williams  For the purposes of the poster who I was quoting or anyone for that matter, let's see him mix yellow, red, and blue pigment...

How did the ball colors and numbers start?

All colors = white is called "additive". Don't ask me any more because I can't answer, but you can google it. This is color created by light. Light at an ice capades show, the color on tv or on your monitor. That's all additive color and when combined you get white. The color on the billiard...

The truly great players, from any era, are all equal. There is no best imo. The thing that separates women from men, is in the men's game a mistake can cost. The top women benefit from their peers not counterpunching. A top female player can afford mistakes. All this to say that the top women...

Would it be possible to add an "auction" section in the wanted/for sale?

Overly complicated. Post "Up for auction", tell people to post their bids, set a deadline. In an uncomplicated manner, you will get to your pricepoint IF YOU HAVE A DESIRABLE PRODUCT. If as one poster suggested the bumps will get out of hand, start higher. A hard deadline is immaterial.

    Pechauer joint question

The balance performance and feel of a cue is designed from tip to butt. So you're asking if it's okay to switch out different shafts from other makers. Well it's okay, but then why bother. Spend time and homework educating yourself about shaft wood, taper, ferrule, hit, and then give them your...
