At What Price do You Consider a Cue Expensive

I have several hobbies and pool is just one of them. I paid $200 for my cue, case and tools. I have spent many thousands on my musical instruments. I would never spend more then a few hundred on pool stuff (pool table is the exception and is on my want list) but would for other interests. Value...

    Eight Ball Or Nine Ball?

9-Ball, because I'm better at it. I stay focused on the 9 at all times and when I get a shot at it I can usually make it. I play in an 8-Ball tournament and a 9-Ball tournament every Sunday, there are always more people in the 8-Ball tournament so they partner up because of limited table space...

whats a good cue to start out with for around $100-150

I bought the Lucasi LE9 about a month ago and it has served me well. This is the first cue I have owned in years and I love it. Middle of the road low end cue but it shoots great. http://www.ozonebilliards.com/lucasicuele9.html

To All of You Lurking Out There....

I'm 45 years old and was laid off back in April. Semi-retired now. My youth was spent playing pool, mostly with my cousins on a 10ft snooker table and the competition was fierce. Haven't played much over the past 20 years but always loved the game (miss the competition mostly). I've been playing...

Why women cant play pool. (Perception)

The only shortcoming a woman might have in pool is picking up the table to level it, otherwise they can compete on any level in the game. Anyone know what the percentage of men and women playing the game is? By my observations it's about 80% men, 20% women. There are more men playing the game...

Using snooker to improve pool game

I agree with cornerman. I grew up on a 10' snooker table, every other table was a piece of cake to play on. Snooker sharpens your angles and enhances your concentration. I started playing again in June (20 year absence) of this year and really miss the table I grew up on, my game would be much...

Snooker vs Pool players - More fuel for the fire

I am by no means a professional anything but the biggest difference in my opinion between a snooker player and a pool player is a snooker player has to be dead on accurate. Yes the balls are smaller and the pockets are smaller but on a snooker table the cushions at the corners are rounded, the...

any one no a good way to move a pole???

I grew up on a snooker table and there was a wet bar on the left side at the headstring end of the table, it interferred with about 2 feet on each side of that corner. We had a short cue for those shots but it actually became part of the game, we called it Bar Hooked and used it in our strategy...

    Shape practice

I have recently taken up the game again after a 15-year absence. I am playing well but I am not leaving myself where I intend to. I would like some suggestions on practice scenarios for setting up the next shot. I grew up on a large snooker table and was very good at shaping the next shot but I...

    Problem with Accu-loc joint

Update The dealer has replaced this cue for me and actaully gave me a better cue. They told me that 1 in 300 of the players cues with this joint have this problem. I don't know how accurate that is but that is what they said.

    Problem with Accu-loc joint

Thanks for the replies, since this cue is only a few days old I guess I better take it back to the dealer. Good excuse for a road trip. Thanks again.

    Problem with Accu-loc joint

My brother bought me a new Players cue earlier in the week and I went to use it for the first time last night. When putting the cue together I was able to get about 2 full turns and then a grinding noise began, I had heard this before so I gave it about another half turn and the joint is now...
