When did you start entering tournys?

Matching up directly is usually better money. Think about it. I will play a race to 9 for $50 or $100 no problem. . . .or I could enter in a $10 - $20 tournament with a $100 1st place and play 10 races to 5 to win! I basically play in tournaments to pay minimal money to play people who want...

JB Case after a few weeks or so. . .

Yes, that is my Bebot Bautista jump cue poking it's butt out. Off topic, that thing ought to be illegal. I can make balls and always get a hit with it. What if I practiced jumping! I actually jumped a ball, banked it and got my leave. The guy was looking for a train to jump in front of!

What are the advantages of high-deflection shafts?

I have and can play either, but I prefer playing what I know and what I own, so I play HD. LD definately has merits and I am experimenting with it on a new cue. . .so we'll see. How does LD masse? Also, basic production LD shafts don't feel good to me hit wise. That said, my player has a...

Are LD shafts really alot better?

LD is probably state of the art. My next player which is being made will be LD. it is the cuemakers LD So it should hit better. I personally have hit both and generally prefer good nonLD SHAFTS, for the hit and fit to my aim style.

What is it about playing pool that makes it so addictive?

The chicks!!! Isn't it amazing how you can live on pool and air for like 20 hours when you are in the zone? My wife will never understand. It is like crack with only about 1/2 of the negatives. Up all night. . . Joansin' for the next game. . . Wondering if there is better pool, cue, tip...

    Chuck Starkey Tulipwood Plain Jane

Well, just got a Chuck Starkey Tulipwood Plain Jane from Sev. CUE APPEARANCE Good looking cue with nice balance between wood colors and the brown phenolic parts. Love the wood pin. This really adds to the feel of the cue. It is hard to explain why. The wood pin goes into a bacote(I...

    WTB Filipino cue

Good point Arrow. A $69 eBay cue is the same regardless of where made. That said, cues made by the names I listed are at least as good as paying the same as paying that to an American maker.

    best way to remove ding?

So, I use qsmooth papers a couple times a year. After the white paper evenly on the unfinished part of the shaft. I wet the divot with a 3mm x 3mm ish piece of wetted paper towel attached with masking tape. I let it set for a couple hours. I do all divots at once. Then I run through the qsmooth...
