I've owned 2 of them, one for a steel joint and one for a 3/8x10 I think... I wasn't a big fan of the Katana shafts, they felt very whippy to me and lacked a crisp hit. I put a large assortment of tips on them and just couldn't get used to them. <<<predator shaft user for over 10 years.

If you're just starting out, you can find yourself a cue that will do the trick for around $200-$300. Predator is a great choice. Yes this cue is worth at least $1000. Have pat diveney from Iowa build this cue for you and you're going to spend close to $2000 to take it home.
