Will a swamp cooler ruin a table?

I thought about running a swamp cooler in my garage for the same reason. As we speak it's 105 degrees and with the night time temps not dropping very low it's going to stay too hot in the garage for me to play until it's way too late into the evening. Currently I feel like an idiot having to...

A lot of low opinions on 9 ball, me included, what about 8?

The reason 9 ball increased in popularity is really the luck factor. At least at the lower levels it's a benefit more than a hinderance. If you switched all local tournaments to 8 ball, I'd bet your tournament dries up pretty quickly. You say the pot only gets to $100 in your local tourney...

1955-1959 Brunswick Anniversary 9 foot- Stunning

Get off your high horse guy. You guys really read into a comment as short as 1 line that has 3 positive things to say and a simple statement of the obvious that it's difficult right now? I NEVER stated anywhere that the table is overpriced. I never told him to think it should sell for less...

1955-1959 Brunswick Anniversary 9 foot- Stunning

I never said your price was off. I said it's going to be hard to get $5000.00. I didn't say "$5,000.00???, your crazy!?". I didn't write "Maybe $3000.00", I just said it was tough right now to get it. I even said the table is worth it, I don't know what you're getting at. I'm going to chalk...

1955-1959 Brunswick Anniversary 9 foot- Stunning

Well, to tell you that it's a nice looking table, that the market for pool tables currently sucks and wish you luck with your sale. This just seems like rewriting the same thing as the last post, but for some reason you didn't get it.

1955-1959 Brunswick Anniversary 9 foot- Stunning

Beautiful table. Good luck. Going to be hard to get $5000 out of any table in this market. It looks worth the price.

    sandbagging

I played in the APA one year. Just one year. A friend of mine (who is a 7) and I decided to start our team and try this APA league and see what it's about. We grabbed regular, run of the mill friends. I believe it was his roommate, a coworker of mine and a couple of mutual friends. Nobody...

    Hat tip - SDBilliards

I picked up a Gold Crown a few weeks back and had some trouble finding replacement cushions that would fit properly. After reading through this forum and not truely understanding the issue with replacing Monarch Superspeed cushions I decided to call Glen (RealKingCobra) and he recommended that...

    Buyer Beware of "the_general"

Wow....If you are in Indonesia and you sent money to the US for a cue.....do I need to continue?? You sent your money overseas. Yup, to some donkey overseas, you got it. Did I say don't send your money Indonesia? Or China? or the Phillipines? No. I used the terms "overseas" and "domestic"...

    Buyer Beware of "the_general"

I'm not saying everyone overseas is a donkey. I was talking in particular about the seller in this case and from what I've read he has acted quite the donkey here. I'm pretty sure that everyone involved here believes this guy "Les" is an ASS, so why would you make THIS your point of...

    Buyer Beware of "the_general"

This whole situation is terrible. You can call it "racist" to be leary about ordering cues overseas, but I'll be damned if I'm going to send money Western Union to some donkey in Asia and HOPE he makes me a cue. I'm sorry, but someones reputation on an online internet forum is not enough for...

    Carrying a grudge

It's not as if this is a story of two guys that used to be old friends, had a lot in common, got along and some rift grew between them and someone was holding onto it for all of these years. Sounds like two guys that didn't get along and didn't like each other. No reason to believe it would be...

    Carrying a grudge

The US alone has over 300,000,000 people in it. I too chose not to talk to or associate with the ones I don't like. There are plenty more.

Diamond ProAm vs. Brunswick Gold Crown

I voted for the Gold Crown. I think both tables are fantastic and I'd love to own either one. But for $1000.00 I can buy a Gold Crown in just about any part of the country. I can pay one of the top table mechanics to come set it up, recalibrate the rails, and give me exactly what I want...

Is Putting your Cue away BEFORE your Opponent has finished running out Gamesmanship?

See, but it's all so unclear. Obiously if I wait until you are in the middle or shooting or have addressed the table then I'm clearly sending the message that I concede. But if I break and it's the last match and I start disjointing my cue AS I'm walking back to the table, that's not a concession.

Is Putting your Cue away BEFORE your Opponent has finished running out Gamesmanship?

It's certainly rude, but I wouldn't consider it conceding. He/she has every right to take apart and put together cues as he/she sees fit. What if I've decided to change shafts? I know it doesn't seem likely and it's more than likely just the d-bag move, but it's plausible that it would come...

    Pool is Not Dead.....Just Transitioning

Haha, not really. I can take ANY 2 able bodied, mentally functioning people and put them in a room with a pool table and they can play a game of pool. It won't be fantastic to watch, but they will get through it. In golf, it's not going to happen. If they haven't held a club in their life...

    Pool is Not Dead.....Just Transitioning

It won't matter who the heroes are in the game. That's not the problem. And equating golf to pool? I'm sorry, but golf is FAR more difficult and FAR more exciting than pool. I enjoy both games, but I certainly understand the ooh's and aww's about golf. Just about anyone can pick up a cue...

    Pool is Not Dead.....Just Transitioning

I don't necessarily find it repetitive. Is it difficult to understand that I'm talking about casual players and even non-players? I don't have to be an avid football PLAYER or basketball PLAYER or race car DRIVER to see the excitement in it and to find it exciting. I don't think the same is...
