Rebuttal by Johann Chua re Waxgate

No, but if you know the cue ball is "waxed" and your opponent doesn't, you are at a HUGE advantage. Even if a player like Kaci or Yapp (or anyone else) can "adjust" to the new conditions in a few shots, that three or four mistakes or missed position, at this level, is likely to be fatal.

Rebuttal by Johann Chua re Waxgate

Yeah, he really has nothing. If he actually had a "legal team" they would have told him that to sue for defamation they would need to prove the comments were made with malice, which I doubt there is any evidence of. Edit: at least in a US court that would be the case, possibly that is...

Rebuttal by Johann Chua re Waxgate

I wish they would stop using the word "wax". Much more likely to be silicon lubricant. Spray it on your glove before the match or even put it in your hair then run your hand through it before you take ball in hand. Rub the cue ball a little and it's done. Then the next time the ref cleans...

Commentators talking about anything but the match in front of them

How do you all feel about interactions with the comment section? When they are on the screen, I find it distracting and sometimes read them and miss most of the match. When they are not on the screen, and the folks in the booth respond to them without reading them out loud, I'm listening...

Commentators talking about anything but the match in front of them

Maybe it's just me, but I also find the "I would do this" comments to be exhausting. You're not at the table; nobody cares what you would do.... especially when after you tell us what you would have done, we find out that because of parallax and camera angles the shot you thought was the right...

Cue repair man n player, need room

I started to see a lot of these around local pool halls/tournaments, so I decided to get one and overall, it's pretty nice. The tubes are actually pretty large so you can double up shafts (1 up, 1 down) if you need to. I've even put a shaft in next to a butt a few times. You can also put shafts...

    8 ball rules question

Generally everything in this area is VNEA rules. I completely understand when you call ball/pocket it doesn't matter how it gets there. The sticking point comes in when all banks must be called and then the shooter "accidentally" banked the ball it starts to get into the gray area of...

    8 ball rules question

Thanks guys for all the answers. It was just a hypothetical question that someone asked me about. I probably shouldn’t have used the 8 ball in my example since most rules require that to be called anyway. Though in our local leagues if it’s a straight in shot it generally isn’t.

    8 ball rules question

I have a question for the rules gurus. You’re playing 8 ball and the rules state you do not need to call an obvious shot, but you MUST call all banks and combos. You end up straight in on the 8 ball, but miss it so bad that it goes 4 rails and falls into the pocket that you “obviously” were...

Help with Cue Identification: CCC logo.

Does anyone recognize this logo? This particular one has a one-piece butt that has been coder. No weight bolts and bumper was attached with a wood screw. Came with two flat laminate shafts. One is a 12mm player and one a 13.7mm break shaft. The logo is placed just above the butt cap...

    Orange Ferrule Material

Had a chance to take a close look at a shaft with an IB+ break tip on it and I'm 99% sure it's the same material. The color is identical, and it even has that very slight/small yellowish ring right at the edges that you can see in Kim Bye's picture above. I'm guessing Tiger isn't going to...

2024 Mosconi Cup Scores and Individual Player Records

I made the comment during the Doggin' it Podcast that "Putting SVB in the Mosconi Cup is like scratching on the same shot 20 times in a row and still shooting it the same way next time"

Old Dogs New Tricks aka Cue Ball vs Object Ball - Mosconi Team Members Answers

Honestly, if your fundamentals are really solid, it shouldn’t matter. Think about all the guys who show off by closing their eyes or turning their head. My opinion, not that it’s worth much, is that it truly doesn’t matter, as long as your eyes are still. I do think that looking at the...

Old Dogs New Tricks aka Cue Ball vs Object Ball - Mosconi Team Members Answers

Before LASIK it was only CB After LASIK I tend to go more OB. In general I think I still look at the CB on short shots, especially when using English. On long shots I tend to look at OB. It’s kind of like open vs closed bridge. I tend to switch between them without much thought. I think...

    Orange Ferrule Material

possibly. It also looks a lot like the same material as their newer Icebreaker+ break tips. Maybe I should get creative and try using one of those as a "pad"

    Orange Ferrule Material

I have a Tiger Fortis shaft with the orange ferrule, my eyes aren't what they used to be, and I feel like I see it much better than the white ferrule on some of my other shafts. I'm thinking of putting orange on some other shafts just to see how it goes. Anyone have a recommendation/source...

    Fedor Mosconi cup

I'm mixed on this because ultimately, it's personal for Fedor and generally not my business, but that being said I'm very also very curious about a lot of things. I believe he mentioned briefly in an interview that the reason he did not go home to Russia when Kristina did a while back was...
