Cenntennial, Anniversary, Gold Crown 1, 2, and 3 frames, how flat do think they are

The Anniversaries, Centennials, and Gold Crowns were built back in the 40's, 50's & 60's. Who was Brunswicks biggest competition back in those days? Was the slate platform that far off level coming out of the factory at the time these tables were built, or did the frame get out of whack over...

    9' Anniversary $3000.00

Selling my 9 foot Anniversary table. This table is in very good condition, has never been restored, all original and not pieced together with a group of tables. According to markings on the table and my table mechanic, this table was built in 1955, has the formica rails, drop pocket. I am not...

    Damn straight shots!

Straight in shots Aim the cue ball as if you were trying to scratch into that pocket.

    TOI is English/Spin

English or not English??? Hitting the cue ball off the center axis very easily could be considered english. But, what everyone has overlooked is this. The 3 hours that CJ can spend with you teaching TOI is not 3 hrs. of hitting the cue ball left or right of center. It's 3 hrs. of learning...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

CJ has been working with me for a time or two and has incorporated the "hammer" stroke into my routine. You can call it whatever suites you as far as hammer, grip, stroke.....whatever. Basically, if you would hold your cue out in front of you and grip the butt of the cue much like you would...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

With the curvature of the cue ball and tip I don't think that you have to be too far from center to use the edge of your tip.

    Genuine Concern Over AzB

Yep, I am on way to other greener pastures also. Too many threads are being hijacked by the negative posters. If the post does not pertain to their style of playing, then it gets torn apart. I follow CJ and his TOI technique of play. I won't even post in his threads because it will just be...

CJ defeats Earl and a Special Thanks to this Forum

JoeyA, I found that if I turn my right foot further out that it helps to clear the hips. It feels a little out of whack, but when I bring my hips back to lower my head, they seem to be pulled further from the cue.

    Thoughts on a Schon cue

I'd be interested in the butt only, if the price is right. Let me know.

    Fear of Feel

I don't think that there is a "fear of feel", but I also believe that once you are off of center cue ball that "feel" cannot be avoided. Throwing a ball, spinning a ball, it all takes a certain amount of feel. Using contact point to contact point is basic aiming, until you get off of center...

Are there Really "Hard and Easy Shots" in Pocket Billiards?

How about the shooter that passes what may be the correct shot because they are not comfortable with it. Re-training your mind to think that all shots are equal may improve your game slightly???? Who knows??

    Motivation to play/practice alone?

Same problem here, bored quickly with the drills and knocking balls around by myself. A friend introduced me to straight pool. Good game to play while alone, and it makes you aware of your weaknesses, which gives you something to practice. Also, I don't seem to get bored as quickly playing...

Free Give-Away Opportunity - Autographed Copy of Jimmy Caras' Book

My TOI experience As I was looking for a instructor to better my game of pool, I ran across CJ and his TOI shot making technique. I watched through his DVD and started using TOI with great results, so I decided to embark on some private lessons from CJ. We met for the first time at his...
