    The perfect GC1, 2, 3, 4, 5, &6, really?

Glenn, I have a GCIII and your saying that my table can be engineered so the castings sit flush with the rails? That would be amazing. I supposedly have one of the best mechanics in the DFW area and my castings sit above the rails as much as the thickness of a quarter dollar. All these years...

    Ball in hand or not?

I agree with you Bob. With ball in hand, the cue ball becomes part of the hand. I like how the hand is described up to the placement of a wristwatch. Also, any kind of billiards play should be governed by some sort of rules. Just my opinion.

    Ball in hand or not?

Player had ball in hand and while placing cue ball for his shot moved the 8 ball with his thumb. His opponent calls BIH foul. Rules book shows this as a placement type foul, but can be interpreted either BIH, or opponent places 8 ball back in its original position? We called it BIH for our...

    Centennials after cleaning with Dawn?

Back to the OP. I just purchased a 6 month old set of Aramith Pro's that were dull from being soaked in Dawn dishwashing liquid. Took them to the local billiard shop, Ft. Worth Billiards, and had them run them through their cleaner/polisher and now they look like new.

    Black Maple

I do not know enough about wood to answer most of these questions. I haven't seen what he has set aside for myself, but I intend to pick it up tomorrow. Would a few pictures answer some of these questions?

    Black Maple

I guess so? The tree was taken down about 6 weeks ago.

    Black Maple

The owner of this tree is cutting it into small blocks for wood turning. He is stabilizing the blocks in a liquid called "cactus juice" and pulling a slight vacuum on it to pull the air out of the wood. From what I understand a 6oz. piece of cut wood weighs in at a little over 16oz. after...

    Black Maple

It doesn't look like I'm going to get anything that can be quarter sawed. I'm just getting a rough cut board approximately 4" thick. Probably not going to be any good to use in cue building?

    Black Maple

Thanks for the replies. The tree has been down for about a month now, so when it gets dried out I'll see if someone here would want to fashion me a butt out of it??

    Black Maple

Question for all you cue builders. I have a friend that has removed a Black Maple tree from his residence and is cutting this into some workable lumber. He has offered me a piece approximately 3" x 3" x 13'. Would this type of wood be any good for any parts of a cue, like a butt or shaft?

    Deep Knowledge

I too took some lessons from C J and he showed me things that are not common knowledge, but I doubt that they are "trade secrets" either. He teaches the firm grip, tight bridge, the wrist cocking. All these things plus others that the conventional instructors do not teach. All these are not...
