    Low end collection

Here's my collection of cues: Top is a Lucasi Jump/Break with built-in extension in the butt. 2nd is a Schmelke Bacote which came with like a 9 or 10mm tip on it. I got a Schmelke laminated shaft and an American Cowboy laminated shaft for it. 3rd is a Dale Perry Cocobolo with turquoise and ebony...

Unidentified cue need help to sell

A friend of mine's dad wants to sell his Palmer and another cue that he's had quite a while. We haven't been able to figure out what the 2nd cue is to determine its worth. He says his dad calls it the Mosconi cue. The logo looks sort of like Schmelke but not the same. Does anyone have any idea...

    lathe question

It's all I use, too. I'd also recommend their products. Work great for all facets of cue repair and building & Jim's a great guy to deal with.

The Benefit of Playing in Front of an Audience

I've been thinking about this a little the past few weeks. Last year, I played APA masters and by the end of the session I was finally beating players that usually beat me in the past and I felt like my game had gotten a lot better. Now, I feel it slipping. I feel like it's more a lack of focus...

    5x10 vs 9 ftr.......

Ugh! Looks like it would be fun if the cloth was a LOT faster. I'd get pissed in a hurry if I had to play on that thing with that cloth!

    5x10 vs 9 ftr.......

I vote for the 10'. They are just more fun to play on. I'd have a 12' table if I had the room. I had a 10' snooker table and a 9' pool table in a 24' x 24' room. A little tight on the outside rails, but not too bad. I didn't notice any big problems adjusting for shape from one table to another...

Your Thoughts On 60 Inch Cues

I have a couple and I like them a lot. 6' 3/4". They are different weights, one light and one heavy, but the balance point is in the same place. I can play equally well with either one and feel that I play better with them than I do with my shorter cues, although I've never done a scientific...

    Scruggs and Gulyassy!

Then don't worry about it! I find it only takes a couple of days of 1 hour practice to get used to a new cue. YMMV.

    Predator sp6on

Can you describe the balance difference between the two, if there is any? Is one more forward balanced than the other?

    Alex P playing snooker

I'd give my left nut for a snooker club like that within 100 miles of where I live. I've only seen one napped cloth table in my life and they were using it for keeping track of the brackets for a pool tournament the one time I was able to work out some time to spend there. I love, love, love me...

league weekly fees same for 30 yrs,has to be time

As long as some of the guys I play with keep agonizing for 10-15 minutes over a shot in a game that we are only paying 1/3 of $2 a week for, I'm not a big fan of an increase. Imagine how long they would take if there was more on the line!

    My lesson with Mark Wilson

Mike Davis is the player that came to mind for me when reading about the bridge arm being straight. He locks his elbow and it always looked weird to me because his arm looks like it is actually bent a little in the opposite direction (like 185 degrees) when his elbow is locked.

    Looking for malachite

I'm having a custom cue built and need some malachite for ring work around 5" long (minimum of 4"). It can be natural stone or synthetic. Anyone who knows of any sources or if you have some for sale, please post here or send me a PM. Thanks a bunch!

    Your First Break & Run ( 8 & 9 Ball) ?

Sorry, can't answer your question, but your post does bring back some fond memories. I went to Yosemite a couple of times when I was a kid with the church youth group. My buddy and I were playing pool at a bar there and they were serving us tomato beer (we were both underage and I think my buddy...

Who benefits more from last pocket 8ball? Better players or bangers?

I'm no professional, but I don't think there's much about last pocket 8 ball that will improve anyone's game. We used to play 1 & 15 in the side and last pocket when I was a banger to extend the game and throw a little uncertainty into it. A higher skilled player would have the advantage against...
