    RIP Piper

Given that I summarized in my analysis of Piper's part that her drinking likely CAME as a response to her depression (in so many words), I think the writers of the script (for as someone else said, Sarah was not ever a character that Tevis wrote. She wasn't "in" The Hustler book..) did a fine...

That Vietnam crowd is what pool needs more of.

I know garczar can't see my response as he is ignoring me, but he is a prime example of how effective the food industry's propaganda is. When the obesity problem is rampant throughout the population (and it very much is, in America), this is NOT a "self-control" issue. It's a tainted food...

Actually, it's less the fast food chains, than you might think. The food industry has figured out that if you put more sugar in ANY food, we eat more of it, whether we can taste it or not. Sugar is a metabolic poison that plays havoc with hunger/satiety hormones. So, it's not just fast food...

    RIP Piper

Pshaw. Don't bother Fran with facts when she is playing the female victim card.

    RIP Piper

I sincerely hope you are not insinuating that I want Bolo Yeung to stomp on Fran's head. I wouldn't wish that on my worse enemy!

    Simonis 860HR slide

I did mention that both the club tables and my table were recovered at basically the same time.

    Simonis 860HR slide

So, I read a few other threads on Simonis 860HR, but they seem to be a bit older, and I think Simonis might have tweaked the cloth a bit in the past few years. My club here in Germany recently recovered with 860HR, and while folks have mentioned that it plays similar to 860, that was not my...

    RIP Piper

Well, tell us how you think that might have been accomplished? Give us your story synopsis. Literally everything that Tevis wrote has been turned into very high quality movies/television shows. Perhaps he knows something about the human condition that speaks to us mere mortals? Weirdly enough...

    RIP Piper

My name is Russ Chewning, and I never made any effort to hide my name, and it's been mentioned multiple times on this forum, so it's not a secret. And I am not your "pal". I wouldn't be pals with you, as every single interaction you have on here turns into acerbic complaining about one thing or...

That Vietnam crowd is what pool needs more of.

And if I were a top touring pro these days, I'd be making the effort to make some connections while I am out there, to set up profitable visits in the future that are not completely dependent on getting to the top 4 in killer fields. Exhibitions, etc. There's a lot of money being left on the...

Pshaw. Didn't you hear the news? Matchroom doesn't know what the fark they are doing, and is gonna "ruin pool", by "not doing things the way they have always been done." - American hardcore pool fan who tends to be over 55 /sarcasm Matchroom knows that pool is kinda sorta dead in America...

    RIP Piper

He didn't paint men in any better light. In point of fact, Piper's character is in the end, a victim of male ego. Eddie's ego. Bert's ego. This is real life, and Tevis simply used pool as the backdrop to write a side story about the challenges a lot of women go through. Pretty easy to take a bad...

Matchroom Major event -Hanoi Open (10-15 October),Vietnam, Winner $30K

Coldest roll ever. He hit that break good, came cross table a full diamond above the side, slowly, and it got kissed in the side by the two banking off the top rail.

Matchroom Major event -Hanoi Open (10-15 October),Vietnam, Winner $30K

Well, to be fair, that is a pretty easy kick. You make it whether you go two rails, or hit it direct, so your kick target is nearly 3 balls wide. And you gotta get pretty unlucky to not get pretty much the same exact shot on the next ball.

Matchroom Major event -Hanoi Open (10-15 October),Vietnam, Winner $30K

Yes, in one, winner played well, but also got every single roll that could possibly be gotten. Plus, his opponent collapsed, as well. We'll see if Jayson gets that many rolls, and a soft opponent in this set.

Matchroom Major event -Hanoi Open (10-15 October),Vietnam, Winner $30K

Well. He certainly deserves a little bit of luck. Shaw has had 4 dry breaks so far, and not a lot of love for Sanjin on any of them. Shaw missing shots left and right early on, and leaving Sanjin either dead hooked, or with a extremely tough situation to navigate. Add to that, Sanjin struggling...

From what I heard on Facebook, that was the REFEREE yelling out 5 seconds, right in the middle of Gorst's stroke. I mean, seriously.. Who TF is training Matchroom refs?

Fedor Gorst nominated for Mosconi CUP Team USA!

Ehhh.. I think either one has zero chance of getting Raga down 8-1... Under any conditions. Thorpe has a few fundamental issues to work out, but he is close to world class speed if he does iron them out. Age has caught up with both Deuel and Archer.

Felt recommendation for unbranded ball polisher

I mean, I might be searching wrong, but it looks like the price on Grainger.com is 36"x"36, 1/4" thickness for $222.00? Seems excessively expensive for felt. There is no 24"x24".
