Bustamante vs Chohan-One Pocket Money Match-June 16-18th. Who do you guys like ?

GOAT should really be spelled GOTE. Greatest of Their Era. Everything else is subjective. I am still partial to Efren as he did things no one else at the time saw. I am inclined to still think that is the case. That aside I think that GOTE is the fairest thing we can do. JMO

    PPV-F. M. Bustamante vs Tony Chohan-One Pocket Action-June 16th-17th-18th

Not surprising given the intensity of the 1st 2 1/2 days. Tony has changed his game eliminating a lot of the flash and many of his old sell outs. Busty is 56 and played Lil John the night before. Last few games were almost up table games. Who sees that anymore. Tony is virtually unflappable...

Whos instructional videos do you like?

I am a proponent of SPF. Consequently for people just starting out I would recommend Scott Lee's and Randy's 2 DVD set on fundamentals. Loaned mine out and can't remember the title. Joe Villapando's--So simple yet so instructive. Was very glad to see it previously...

    Hard Times closing

Born and raised here. When I was young I traveled through all of the States and each had its positives but So. Calif is home. For 71 of my years I was never more than 3 blocks from the ocean. My only complaint is that L.A. County with 10 million people should sure have more pool rooms!

    Happy birthday Scott Lee

Have a happy one Scott. Take care of yourself. I am looking forward to breaking bread together again. The sooner the better. I'll pour a scotch now and raise the glass to you and your "special day." Charlie B

Oh I don't know about that. The Pacific Ocean, wonderful restaurants, and 1000;s of beautiful women in Bikinis are only 15 minutes away. I guess tastes differ.

Actually he did have a horse. On matches where a LOT of money was involved "Cowboy" was usually the person who held the cash.

    Hard Times closing

I know "Cowboy" drove Cliff all over So. Calif, including up to Ventura getting Cliff some games & Cliff ended up giving "Cowboy" $50.00 for gas. That was one pissed off "Cowboy."

    Hard Times closing

Good question. I know Moto came back right away & got his $, The backer was sitting over by table 1 bleeding while Kenny tried to stop the bleeding. I never saw Kong give the money back to the guy but since they knew each other so well I assume he got his $ back. However, I didn't see him get it.

No. Kong was sharking and Moto told him that he had better stop. Then Kong's backer who was playing a table away started getting in Moto's face. I don't know why unless he was seeing like the rest of us his money going down the road. Anyway he pushed it too hard and Moto decked him. Kong went...

    Hard Times closing

We probably unknowingly have seen each other before. Besides Hard Times L.A. Mo played regularly at Yankee Doodles in Long Beach. He had his security license and had a couple of guys working for him for a while. As you said he was a very nice guy who had a deep love for pool. Just a quick...

    Hard Times closing

I remember that Joey., The guy Kong was playing was Moto a good 1 Hole player and the guy who got in Moto's face was Kong's backer. Big mistake because as you said Moto nailed him real good. Guy went down and Moto nailed him again. It was funny how quick Kong got to the light to grab the money...

Not always. I remember one night when he was matching up with Cliff Joyner getting 10/8 and we had a long wait because he was playing in the 1st Sunday of the Month Tournament--this was when they got almost 100 players every month with many coming from as far away as Arizona--he won the...

    Played some pool last night

When the Clubhouse in my community(55+) opens I will definitely be there--with a mask. The room is large enough for 6 of us to social distance. At this point I don't even care if anyone else shows up. There are more than 6 of us who play but several play poker a couple of afternoons a week. When...

    Hard Times Bellflower

Anyone know if tables are still in the building? Hard Times was during a time when pool had been revitalized by the movie "The Hustler." It was during a time when compulsive gamblers could find easy, frequent action. It was a time before Indian gambling casinos, a time before the Internet stole...

1 and 15 in the side 8 ball

I live in a 55+community with two Brunswicks covered in Simonis and all of the regulars have been playing 1-15 forever. I hated it at first but have fun with it now. Our rules are different than those stated above. Mainly you can move your opponents 1 or 15 ball whenever you want or can as long...

    Bert kinister 60 min workout-TINMAN

Interesting! That is something I will have to check out when I can get back on a table. I'm usually so happy when I hit a few right and the cue ball replaces the object ball that I haven't really paid attention to the mechanics. Nice Bocote!!

    Bert kinister 60 min workout-TINMAN

First instructional video I ever bought. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that every shot is a no scratch shot. I believe there was 27 shots that always seem to come up in a game. When my Clubhouse reopens the first shot I hit will be a #1 and I guarantee that it will take me awhile to hit...
