I am not that guy! Thats funny. I certainly don't want to give the impression that I know everything. I'm just giving the perspective of what a clear mind does for my game. Everyone has there own perspective on things I didn't want to start a philosophy thread! My game is not very good, I just...

There is a misunderstanding about being in the moment and no thought that there is nothing there. In reality we are pure awareness at our true nature, This really can not be explained in words only experienced. I will say that without the baggage of the ego awareness is intensified and expanded...

I say do not need a reason to play your best game. I think to reach a high level of play you need to be consistent. Don't strive just be. If you stay in balance playing to the best of your ability you eliminate striving. Striving in all cases sets up the causation for suffering! "Bangers" are...

Jay, I couldn't have said it better! Jeff, I'm not talking about a zombie state its just getting rid of all the unnecessary thinking. It is said that 90% of all thought is repetitive. Like I said awareness and a sense of good can be heightened. Set goals and have high aspirations just don't...

As to the response about all being well and good as long as life gives you no problems; Life will always be problematic no mater what your financial situation, some that are very well off financially are more tormented then others due to addictions to greed, fame or power. I practice Zen, I find that it enhances the quality of my life. It also helps my pool game, If I go to the table with a clear mind, no thought and no attachment to outcome and just let the shots happen I tend to have higher runs and pocket more balls. Concentration and awareness are increased...

New guy and my set up

Thanks! Woody, I would like to find a qualified instructor. Watching videos and reading has helped my game a lot but I'm sure an instructor could speed things up! I'm thinking about getting the Little Joe DVDs Scott, I'm in the Memphis area. Steve

The score keeper on top of the light that is something I made myself using nylon cord and some cheap practice golf balls. I also used a turnbuckle to make it very tight. Very easy and cheap to make! It works great for playing sets but I need something to keep score for strait pool. Steve

What's Your preferred CUE BALL & Why?

As a novice player I have found the measle ball to be a good training aid. I think the one that came with my set is a better cue ball though, not sure why it just plays different.

Thats the Mezz Z805 that I'm playing with now. I also have an Axi series, I wanted to try the Wavey joint. Both cues are excellent! I have not tried a lot of different brands or any customs but I really like the Mezz hit and quality! Steve

New guy and my set up

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! When I started playing I experimented with different cue lengths. What you see on the rack are 54" 56" and standard 58" cues. I prefer the 56" for feel but my current player thats on the table is a standard length Mezz with WD700 shaft, I love this shaft. I...
